Zips are still the top dog in the MAC. Bobcats have a chance to see where they stack up .

Akron has great balance with six guys averaging between 9.1 and 12.3 points and another at 7.3. Their rotation of nine guys features seven who shoot the 3 at 31 percent or better. Kretzer, McAdams and Robotham are all 44.4 percent or better on a lot of attempts.

This one is going to require a strong 6th man - and not just from the bench. We need to Bring The Noise

The series record between the two teams is tied, 37-37. Dambrot is 16-10 v Ohio. Here's the record vs Akron for the past 4 Ohio coaches-

1-1 (.500) Saul Phillips
1-5 (.167) Jim Christian
6-4 (.600) John Groce
6-9 (.400) Tim O'Shea

Bowling Green is currently the only MAC team Ohio has a losing record against.

Sure hope that Campbell is willing to accept the challenge that Johnson will provide. They say that they are big and can prevent the opponent from getting to basket, we will see. My concern is their three point shooting. 3 guys shooting over 40% and Johnson can also hit the three like Campbell.

I'll be disappointed if he doesn't. Kid looks like a meth bust waiting to happen.

This made me wonder about our squad in this department. Seven of our guys averaging at least 10 minutes per game are shooting 35% or better from 3.

I don't like to use hyperbole very much, but I hate, HATE, Akron. There isn't a single thing I like about their basketball program. Let's Go Ohio.

This would actually be very, very appropriate if Akron turns into Ohio Tech. Just like Georgia-Georgia Tech, Ohio-Ohio Tech could be good, clean, old-fashioned hate.

Wasn't that the same narrative we heard about Kent before Friday's game? Get Tony the ball where he likes it and he'll have a big game. That takes hard work and smart play from the other guys on the court though. Against Toledo we had great spacing and that helped Tony have a big night. On Friday it was ball movement.

Wow - Mouse owned JC. Any idea what their record was against each other when he was at Kent?

Amen brother. I say all the time they're the biggest rival we have in my eyes, and it goes back more than a few years. For me, it goes all the way back to the Hipsher days.

He's gonna take Johnson to school (at least I think and hope he will). I've seen both play many times and Johnson doesn't hold a candle to Tony. We got the better end of the Cincinnati area big men deal.

The only think I know about Johnson, besides his physical stature, is the way 'Kron's radio guys insist on calling him "Big Dog". I listened to one of their games last year where I had to figure out on my own who they were talking about.

I hope the "Big Dog" hunts but never finds his game tomorrow.

When Forsythe is healthy, he is Akron's best big man. Wonder how that ankle is doing?

From reading their board it sounds like he's healthy now. I'm not as worried about Akron's big men as I am their ability to pass the ball. Kent did a terrible job kicking it after penetration was stopped. Akron does a much better job of finding open shooters. Of course, if we spend too much effort guarding the 3 their bigs will eat us up. Going to be a tough one.

If you read their board, those clowns think they have a shot at an at-large bid to the tourney.

We bring OUr "A" game for 35 minutes tomorrow night - Starting 5/bench and boisterous "6th man" home court advantage - and we can put that thought to bed.
