I saw the Ball State & NIU game got moved to tonight in order to be put on CBS Sports Network. I know very little about the conference broadcast rights and was wondering if this could happen with any game? And who makes the decision, the conference, the related schools, both? With our agreement with ESPN for Friday night, do they get first crack at just 1 game, but since that game was already selected (Akron/Kent), the MAC was free to have any other games go to any other networks?

I don't recall a MAC conference game ever being on CBS Sports Network but would love to see more of it.

CBSSN televised Akron a week or two ago on a Friday. Part of the conference agreements for Friday includes CBS as well as ESPN. I don't know the details, I just know they released something about it over the summer/fall.

By the way, watch a game on CBS. Tell me if you think their production and commentary is better as compared to ESPN.

I guess I'm not the only one. I wondered if I had some kind of bias, but I really prefer the studio work done by CBS. There are some guys on ESPN that need put out to pasture in my book.

Are the CBS-Sports announcers actually at the game or are they doing the remote from a studio somewhere also?

I couldn't tell you for certain. Maybe tune in to the game tonight?
