Thumped redhawk 72-44.

12 of OUR women played at least 8 minutes with only one playing over 21.

It wasn't the best performance from the girls, but they still completely overwhelmed Miami. Had they capitalized early on the many, many turnovers from the Redhawks, and played starters in the 4th quarter, this easily could have been a 40+ point win. I believe Arkley had Miami with 33 turns. Youch.

Side notes, Miami got very chippy when the score started to get really lopsided, and they need to start feeding #11 a cheeseburger every now and then. Like maybe twice daily for a few months.

Amazing the transformation of this program under Bolden the last 3 years...from conference doormat to Class of the MAC.

How awesome would it be to have both teams playing in the MAC title game. I would hope that would mean a big crowd for the women's team.

My shout out to their coach in the 4th quarter: "Hey coach, what's for dinner? Turnovers! All you can eat"

The video recap from last night's win... http://youtu.be/wkPC-bpru-k

The girls got off to a rough start, but still played very well. Kiki got her 7th 20 point game of the year. Also, 'Cats locked up #1 seed for tournament for sure in Cleveland.

Cats are only one game up on Central with 5 to play.

What was clinched was a trip to Cleveburg as one of the top 4, not the #1 seed yet.

Oops! I got a little anxious... My apologies, friends. Hence why I'm not the professional in the department, eh?

Very nice ball movement by the ladies in the highlights. Same as the men these days.

Love going to ohiobobcats.com and seeing that the 'Cats have #7 on their roster, complete with a picture and bio. Very heartwarming--check it out.

Drove to Rhodes Arena yesterday to watch the Bobcat women take on the Zips. At end of first quarter, Zips led 15-13.

During the quarter break, Coach Boldon and staff stood apart from the team which was having its own chat. Then in the last moments Boldon joined the team, smiled, said a few words and sent them back on the court. And then the Zips saw but couldn't avoid the high tide that came thundering in. Final: 101-73 and to borrow a cliché it wasn't that close.

The officiating? It seemed fair. That's the best it could be called. 59 fouls whistled. 30 against the Cats, 29 against the Zips. To say that many were ticky-tack would be generous.

OHIO needs to learn from this. You follow the terrific lady hoopsters on the road.

How many fans at the game, how many from the O H I O side, Mike?

Seemed like Akron was gonna put up a fight at first, but Ohio wouldn't allow it. 2nd straight win at the JAR. 6 girls w/ 10 or more PTS, KB & Kiki had 3 fouls going into half so a lot of others stepped up. Lots of Ohio fans there.. Basically filled up the section behind the 'Cats bench. A lot of them were the family members of Boesinger (from Hudson), and it was a spectacular showing.

Paid attendance was 700+. I'm guessing butts in seats totaled 300-400, with perhaps a third or so Ohio fans.
