Before today, the last time the Ohio women won at Toledo was 1987. The ladies, who weren't even born then, decided to end that today with a 77-57 drubbing of the Rockets. Kiyanna Black goes off for 36 points, 10-20 from downtown, as nearly 5000 Rocket fans get silenced early. Ohio held a 20 point lead much of the game. Interestingly, 60 of the 64 shots taken came from only 4 players. Solid team defense again.

Toledo's average attendance is 4000 per game. Ohio needs to move to those numbers. It’s coming but a little student support could help a lot.

Go OHIO!

This is great but I think 4,000 is a lot to ask for women's basketball in the Athens market.

Why's that? We've had over 3000 for volleyball on more than one occasion. Of course if the local population is of the mindset that one guy on one of the ad's focus groups said a few years ago, "the only sports that matter are football, basketball when played by the guys, and baseball, then 4000 will be a stretch." In hearing that, my daughter promptly pulled her business from his business.

Ehh, I think you're wrong. Our volleyball crowds have neared 4,000.. I remember my first ever volleyball match last year there was over 5,000. I hope these next home games to end the year give a good showing, since the girls will be home four out of the next six games.

I know some will say the men's crowd helped the 3,000+ that were at the last home game, but still, I'd like to think they will return next Wednesday vs. Fiami.

Those 4 players ate up the minutes as well, unusually short rotations in that game for a team that usually has a deep and productive bench.
