We are 4-12 since 2000 playing in BG. Added fun fact - We have lost to BG 3 straight times at home as well. Since 2008, we are 7-12 against BG regardless of location. I don't need to tell you which of these programs has been the more successful program during this stretch.

Why do we suck against these guys?

Only team in the entire MAC that we have a losing record against All-Time...

I pretty much always go to the game at Bowling Green because it is close to me, and I pretty much always return back to Upper Sandusky disappointed.

Guys, back before my days even, BG was very good. If I recall correctly they had a number of NBA guys in the late 50s and 60s...maybe Howie Komives was one? At any rate they had a big lead on us early and lately we just lay eggs against them every time the two teams play.

Like I said last night, if they bring their A game...why can't we respond with our A game instead of going to a D? Mental toughness still seems to be lacking with this team. Most of the players appeared to have no energy for the game (especially defensively) and just looked dazed once things went south.

What I missed last night was a tc hook in the lane. Did he have one? I know he was hot in the first from 3 with like 4/5. But, 2nd half I think he took 7...probably didn't make many. And, without his presence in the lane we never got to the ft line. We just settled for what was easy and didn't make the 3-balls in half 2. Did we hit a pick n roll once the entire game whereas they had at least 5/6 in the second half. Just a poor performance.

Let's hope we bounce back!

Howard Komives and (better yet) Nate Thurmond.

There's also the 1990s when they went from Antonio Daniels to Anthony Stacey and were always tough.

Sometimes I get the feeling our guys look around at the empty road stadium (again) with no life at all (again) right after the ref calls something just totally lame (again) or they miss a shot....and just get down.... the life is sucked right out.... And then never get "it" back.

Or, we are just a young/streaky middling team like the rest of the MAC.....

Or, BG plays defense and we don't do well against teams that play defense....

We have actually won a couple of road games up there in recent years. I don't think there's any real reason for our losses to BGSU except that they have just found a way to outplay us the last two seasons.

The ESPN3 announcers lost all credibility (if they had any to begin with) midway through the first half when they mentioned an "outstanding" crowd tonight (or some similar adjective).

I've seen all ESPN3 MAC broadcasts at least once and last night's had the least-professional feel to it. The sideline reporter, before the game, mentioned Saul Phillips previous coaching job at "North Dakota" . . . several-seconds-pause to look at her index card notes, . . . "State."

Has anyone ever returned to Upper Sandusky not disappointed?

The ESPN3 broadcast was brutal. The color guy had to be a student, right?

The camera people and producer might have been even worse. They sure loved the baseline camera zoomed in so we could see the person with the ball only.

Throw in Komive's Son and LarraƱaga's Son in the back court. Tough teams going up against the Gary Trent lead Bobcats.

Lack of Tone hooks in the lane was not getting the ball to him quick enough when he posted up.

I was screaming into my laptop desk top every time we did not pick up the roller into the lane off the high screen. Tone missed a lot of those and help was not there either.

I think a lock down zone in the paint would have helped - apparently we do not have that in the playbook.

BG has actually had some really good teams and crowds over the years, just not many at all in the last decade or so. With all the turnover and change they've had at BG recently, plus the forgettable Orr years, it's sort of amazing they have been as decent at times as they have been. In football, BG has just been better than Ohio for years for the most part. Ohio has had some success mixed in there, but I don't think anyone can argue about it, BG has been the better football program. BG has won more MAC Championships, bowl games and is way ahead in the head to head meeting with Ohio. In basketball, despite BG also winning more head to head matchups, it's flipped as Ohio has had more success, mainly because Ohio has won MAC Championships and BG has fallen short. There were some very good BG teams from the mid 1990's to early 2000's with NBA players like Daniels and McLeod or MAC stars like Stacey that never got to play in the NCAA Tournament. Ohio has gotten it play on the national stage, BG has not. I believe even in most of Ohio's NCAA Tournament seasons BG has beaten Ohio at least once. BG has just been a team that Ohio hasn't always matched up well with.
