Not going to happen unless MAC football ever downgraded.

I like your train of thought, but the MAC is consistently around a top 10 conference. C-USA IS a big step down now and A-10 does not have FBS football. American would be cool though!

Schaus has a stack of invites to other conferences piled up on his desk. He needs to pick one already and get the show on the road.

Similar to when OCF's mom used to tell him to eat his spinach because kids in the old county are starving and would want it: "Name one." Seriously, name one invitation.

A personal invitation perhaps, but not one for OUr University.

None of which will improve OUr situation I would guess. A10 & MVC would be great for basketball but don't have football so they're both non-starters. CUSA, blech. The only one that makes any sense at all is the AAC and I'm betting they aren't one in the "stack".

The rhetoric of this new poster screams of a big OSU fan who just realized his actual alma mater is doing kind of decent so he decided to weigh in on them to keep busy before Buckeye football season.

So often, people jokingly reference joining B1G when they talk about Ohio University upgrading to another conference.

If we are talking fantasyland, forget B1G. Lets join the SEC. Think about it... The SEC would use us as a declaration of war against the B1G, coming directly into one of B1G's core states. It isn't like they'd be jumping across the country... We share a southern border with a SEC rival (Kentucky) and if you really wanted to get crazy you could add WVU as well to really tie the geography together.
Keep in mind, if this happened we'd instantly become the biggest fanbase in the state as I'm fairly confident in assuming 75% of OSU fan's heads would explode on the news.

That's oneupsmanship, little brother.

Another invite just rolled in...you won't believe it! PAC 10! BANG! I know it might increase our travel expenses for intramural broomball, but we should jump on this offer!

Right! Think of the recruiting edge Ohio would have over OSU. Ohio coaches could subtly point out that each season would bring road - er, continental - trips to either Cal/Stanford or USC/UCLA with all their beautiful "scenery."

What's wrong with you people? Ya gotta keep up with the news:

OHIO today announced that it has joined the PAC-10 (10??) and the SEC.

For basketball and football.

Starting in 2016.

The Peden expansion to 85,000 seats won't be completed until 2017 however.

Welcome bobcat 2000. I think we'd all love to see OHIO in a bigger/better conference. But, those conferences are not inviting us to join.

So, the next best thing is to dominate the MAC.
