My annual deal. These are first row, feet on the floor tickets.

Living in L.A., I haven't yet gotten in to use them but I'm told they're great seats and somewhere near midcourt.

pm me with your bid for the two seats for any game.

I'll close the bidding a handful of days before a given game, so pm me ASAP, please, so there's no time crunch here (as I'm incredibly busy with work, started a new biz DesignspiritUSA.com, the excellent girlfriend, two dogs, etc).

Half of proceeds from the bids go to Ohio Athletics, half to School of Accounting, and the rest to other academics.

Minimum bid per seat for any game is $22.88 (so $45.76 for the pair).

Thanks, Monroe

This has to be in honor of the great Yogi Berra, right? 1/2 to Athletics, 1/2 to Accounting, then everybody else gets the rest. 90% of the game is mental, the other half is physical.

Serious question: Why not just give the money to Athletics (or some portion of the total cost of BB seats, since you clearly don't get full value for the seats through this process) and then let the department sell those seats at full face value to an interested customer? Would be better for the school, no?

The main reason is that Athletics tells me that NCAA regulations prohibit them from re-selling the tickets. So, when no one takes them via my auction, I give them back to Athletics for use...but no revenue is generated.

On a lesser, though still significant note, the auction process gives me a chance for a little more personal interaction with OHIO people--always good.

Monroe,

Great gesture on your part. Kudos to your donations and support of OHIO

I like Monroe's approach. Athletics already got their cash, now they get a little more and so does Monroe's department. Also, I doubt if athletics would even want to sell those as individual tickets without the required payment for the right to buy the seat. As an individual who does that in the platinum section, I wouldn't be too happy if someone could buy the seat next to me with our the required seat payment.

Two dogs, man your life must be insane! -Sincerely, overwhelmed parent of 3 humans.

I agree it is a good gesture. A lot of people have made special trips to games to use the seats which has to help people get hooked on Bobcat hoops. Plus as a fellow CPA I love the support of the best accounting school around.

You need to make it back to Athens to enjoy these seats at least once my friend. Years ago you were so kind to pass on your football tickets to me. I know it's difficult to make it back from the other side of the continent, but if you do, I'd love to meet up with you.

Home of little Kyle Macy who cut his teeth on the court as a toddler while Pops coached and one of our own golden voices attended. Now coached by Muncie Central grad John Peckingpaugh. Got to admit I never thought I would see the day OHIO played Tech.

I'll have the yearbook with the picture of little Kyle wearing a #1 Tech jersey shooting free throws. IIT and the Bobcats.....whodda thunk it, Borna?

Is this the same Peckingpaugh who played at Central with Tommy?

same one Jeff. Uncle Rick played on a great Shenendoah team then went on to coach a couple of decades. In the genes. Off that team, most of the top 10 players are already coaching save for Tommy who is entering the profession this coming year and Kerrigan who is playing for the Redskins.

Looking at the Roster of kids on that Tech team I am sure it will be a big game for them. Still surprised they got on our schedule. Kind of like UK playing Transylvania.

To Those of you who are considering bidding on these seats...do it!

The view of the court from the seats is fantastic. Seated on the court, just in front of the band, and they have a table for the seats (behind/above the courtside advertising). We were there for the FGCU game.

My 6 year old had a blast and is now (hopefully) a huge Bobcat fan. He got to hold the ball during a timeout for the Ref, and he got to high-five the players as they came off the court after the game!

so....you're the one who outbid me for Dunk City. I'm glad you had a great time!

As it turns out my son's HS team extended their postseason run Friday night and he had practice Saturday until 1pm. Whew.

Bid now on the next game at The Convo--12/15/15 vs. a tremendous Ohio Dominican team that is one of the best in the nation.

That may not be true...but hey, if the majority of those on the football board can advocate theories that don't fit the facts, then why not?

I know that I'm not concerned about a football (or basketball, etc) team that wins. I just want to see growth and development..winning not so much. Winning is not a main criteria when we hire coaches, apparently.
