I don't know why Saul was so sold on Khari early in the year but I am proud of Mike Laster for sticking it out and having a great attitude. He has stepped up and without his athleticism and commitment to the defensive end we don't go on this great run to end the year. He is still raw offensively but his energy is ideal for this group and he hustles all over the court. Doug Taylor is the same way. The two of them help wear teams down when they're in. Love it.

I keep hoping Mike will be able to develop his jump shot enough for it to be a factor for defenses to consider. He's got every other facet of his game trending in a positive direct to be pushing for more and more PT.

Seems to me that a deep run in the MAC tourney will require Laster and Taylor to each play a dozen or so minutes per game.

We have a nice eight man (at least) rotation.

And what is so encouraging is that we get 2 more years of Jaaron..Dartis..Laster...Block...DT and even an experienced Khari. Toss in another year with Gollons development and Saul has laid a great foundation in just 2 seasons. How did Laster fall through the cracks?

I agree with this with one exception: I don't see how Khari ever sees major PT again in Athens. The rotation of players ahead of him has become very established. I'm assuming Gollon and Block continue to develop, plus there is the potential for an incoming recruit at the 2 or 3. That says to me he may have reached his peak in terms of PT. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he ends up raising the bar in a big way this summer and fall.
