"Afterward, Clifford was asked what his best memory of playing college basketball will be. He choked up and put his head down, pausing for more than 20 seconds. When he looked back up, his face was red, his eyes were welling.

His answer: “Going out to eat.”

Yikes.

It was so bad, Jon Smith stopped reading the article right at the end of it.

Some would say that "decent meal" shouldn't be used when referring to Chipotle.:)

At least it didn't look like Christian's squad gave up?

Feel like BC should get booted from the ACC.

Boston College typically has a "solid" athletic department from top to bottom but rarely world beaters outside of hockey. I thought then and still think that they are only members because of the "Boston" in their name.

Correct. They want the media market, not necessarily the quality sports. It's just like Rutgers being part of the Big Ten. It's because they bring an east coast market, not because they bring a quality sports program.

Just don't see how JC survives past year 3. Very happy with the Saul for Christian trade.

You know why I like the situation we're in now? I like Saul, based on my perceptions, as being a genuinely really good guy. He, along with his family, seem to be a great fit for the community, not just for basketball. I don't need to go into anything about Jim Christian. He's in Boston. Saul is here. Ohio is doing well with the Phillips family in Athens, and I hope it stays that way for quite awhile.

I recall that there was a vague tie-in with another former Big East team going to ACC, maybe Syracuse? to even up divisions and placate the New England fan base (SEE: "Media Market").

BC/'Cuse football in the ACC makes a lot more sense than hoops alone.
