Beat us 80-69 at their place in our first MAC game of the year.

Both teams were quite different then. I wonder if Maric will be back for this one. That will make a huge difference for them because he's a beast in the paint.

I like this matchup. Campbell was was terrible in the first game and Simmons was still turning the ball over. This is not the same team. If Ohio shows up and plays a descent game we should advance. That means keep the turnovers under 10, 70% from FT line and break even on the boards and don't give up a bunch of 2nd chance points.

Ohio will have to play more than a descent game to advance past the semi's though. One game at a time!!! See you in the Q Thursday night Bobcat fans!

I hope we don't have a descent game or we will fall to NIU. ;-)

2 seed playing a 20 win team sure doesn't feel normal.

NIU, like much of the West, is a very different team away from their home court. If memory serves, the Huskies only lost 1 home game this year. It'll be interesting to see how all the teams perform on neutral court.

Given how the two fan bases travel, it damn well better not be a neutral court. I expect to see and hear a lot of green.

Also of note, with Kent bowing out in the first round, Ohio is the only team in the tourney to have already played a game at the Q this year.

No matter how many people we have, which will be a lot, we'll still take over the place. Much like the 2005 Marshall game.

"The Huskies were without starting Sophomore big man Marin Maric (12.3 points, 8.5 rebounds per game) for the second consecutive game, but have won both contests. Montgomery said the Huskies missed Maric's physical play in the post against the Broncos, but said he will likely be in the lineup against the Bobcats on Thursday."

I believe he was in a boot, so foot / ankle I'd guess? If so it should be tough for him to follow Tony all the way out to the 3 point line.

Yeah...I thought I ESPN3 showed him with a boot on. Maybe it's gamemanship one way or another to keep Ohio guessing.

But in the NI loss Jarron had 0 turnovers. Bobcats had only 4 total. We lost because of defense and shooting and rebounding. Biggest difference was Tony having 6 points and 3 rebounds and playing only 13 minutes before fouling out. And except for Jarron (7-14) and Treg (5-9) we did not shoot well: Jordan (1-7), Kenny (4-15), Block (0-2). We were out rebounded 40-26. We shot at 36%, they shot at 50%, including 10-21 from three. They also took 13 more free throws. I think if the Tony we know has his game we get to Friday, but we need to defend better as a team too.

Can't take this one lightly. NIU led at the under four timeout in the Convo before the Bobcats nailed some late threes to seal it.

I think they played four sub-D1 schools (some of which sound like high schools): Eureka, IU-Northwest, Roosevelt and Judson.
