I think they've done this the last few years to allow additional rest before the MAC tourney on Monday.

You have a date?
You have a date with someone who's not an Ohio fan?

I'm grateful the game is on a Friday. Somehow all the teams I cover ended up playing on Saturday instead of Friday, so Oxford it is. I have a feeling it's going to be a dogfight.

Priorities my man, this is an easy decision....if she won't watch the game with you as part of your date than it would be time to move on to the next women.

Crazy Fan, it's also on ESPN3 so you can watch it on demand if the date doesn't work out...or even if it does.

Crazy Fan...Great time to find out about this date you have. Does she have her priorities in order ? If she is not interested in Ohio at Miami it is best you find that out early in the relationship ! If she is not begging to be included then DUMP HER !

No kidding. The suspensions, and subsequent play by the shorthanded squad against us has apparently lit quite the fire under Miami.

Let's not forget the potential of saving Cooper's job as a motivator. 3 weeks ago, I wrote this one in as 80-90% chance of a "W". Because of Miami upping their game, it's more like 60-40. I think OUr guys are more than up to the task, but it's got me more anxious than those 3 weeks back.

This will not be easy.

No game the rest of this season will be easy.

I'm thinking that maybe we should hold redhawk to less than 20 made 3balls.

You've been an Ohio fan for how long exactly? ;>

In one of my first fan to fan interactions after graduating many, many years ago, I learned the phrase "uncanny ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" as applied to Ohio hoops. This squad hasn't shown exactly that predilection but nothing is a given.

I think the program has grown significantly in that area but is still prone to it from time to time. Most of the games I have seen a game lost in the closing minutes/seconds where a victory seemed likely were against these same Redhawks-the worst being the 2001 MAC semis, with the infamous Benedict Grunkemeyer 3 pointer.

I always enjoy reading players quotes prior to a game. The one below is from Tony in today's Messenger. Players today are more tuned in to saying the right thing prior to the next game and that is what Tony did. However, it's one thing to say the right thing and another to deliver on those words. Now, don't get me wrong, I am a Tony supporter as he has elevated his game this year, and I want to believe him.

“We’ll be ready to play. (Tuesday) made us angry,” Campbell said. “We don’t like going to people’s houses and getting kicked like that.

“We’re going to let that motivate us into going to Miami’s house and beating them,” he continued. “They’re a lot better right now, but we know what we need to do.”

Now I doubt that Miami will change their game based on some of the defenses we have faced since the last time we played them. I expect that we will go inside to Tony in a more deliberate fashion, from the outset, to help set the tone for this game. I would like to see the team set up our 3 point shooters more, when we go into Tony, so he can pass to them if they are open. If this strategy was to be implemented and worked than we can control the game and frustrate Miami into becoming more desperate, which always leads to mistakes i.e.turnovers.

Watch ESPN/ESPN3 is your solution there. Hoops junkie in me sees that somewhere around 10-13 games will be on there for the rest of the day, including every MAC game tonight except the Ball St/NIU game which is on CBSSN.

Big time channel flipping happening tonight!
