Apparently the referee didn't appreciate the announcers opinion. He was allowed to return a few minutes later and finish the broadcast. I wonder if it was Bo...

[quote]Menzl had been warned minutes earlier for waving his arms in exasperation at a call and during the next break, the official said he wouldn't continue the game if Menzl remained.[/OUTER_QUOTE]

Reminds me of when UC's Chuck Machock got thrown out of a game......

I'd be really curious to know what was said as well. Waiving arms and making a gesture is hardly a reason to remove a play by play person.

And if he said them into the mic rather than at the ref, there should be no cause to remove him at all. The ref needs thicker skin.

Deadspin has the audio. This is bizarre. Without having a visual, I have absolutely no idea what this guy did to get tossed. He didn't say anything out of line.

How do officials like this continue to get D1 game assignments? Obviously we didn't see it, but based on the Deadspin piece from Tom, there was nothing remotely inappropriate done.

Listened clear through the recording....Watched that game as well... That was a punk move by the official. Thicker skin required.
