Really hoping for a somewhat decent crowd tonight. My guess is that the best teams at the gate will get the home game next round. I'd like to see this team make the championship and get two games on national TV.

Chicago, Doobie Brothers; either way it is far better than that song all you scarlet and grey worshipers on here call the state rock song. That is a travesty. Some guy talkin about the wrong side of town, Sloopy I don't care what your daddy do vs Without Love where would you be now? Indeed, love is the answer.

In the 70's when Craig Love played and I first heard the song in the Convo, I actually thought it was in honor to him!

The closing run was undeniably thrilling. But for most of the game I found myself thinking: In game 34 we are witnessing what we saw so often during the first 33 - matador defense.

Next season? Unless Coach Phillips demands - demands - consistent in-your-face defense, we can expect pretty much a replay of this season.

The only thing remotely interesting about Hang On Sloopy is that the girl it was written about attended THE OHIO UNIVERSITY. (although only for 1 year).

I'm excited about playing Morehead State!!! Hopefully they travel some fans up on Wednesday! This is a regional rival that would be a nice series if we ever consistently played one another!

Did they announce Morehead State as the opponent? I figured if Vermont wins tonight, they may pull them to Athens and send Morehead State out west. But I agree I'd love to see Morehead St.

#233 E Washington
#118 Nevada

#126 Vermont
#287 Seattle


If Vermont wins @ Seattle it would make sense for them to stay on the West Coast with the next game on Wednesday. The only way I see Morehead not coming to Athens is if none of the other teams want to host a home game and OU and Morehead end up hosting the two late game winners. Highly unlikely though. Hopefully some Morehead fans can make the trip to Athens.

We did consistently play Morehead State, usually home-and-home, beginning
when I was a teenager in Athens, i.e., 1954-55 season.
Morehead could run and gun with the best of them, so the scores were often
mind-boggling, @ least for 1950's college BB.
In 1955-56, we defeated Morehead 113-99 @ Men's Gym, the first time I ever
witnessed a team score 100 points or more. They whupped up on us down
there next season 119-88. We won in 1959-60, our first MAC champ team,
96-66 in Athens. Believe series ended after the 1963-4 season.
