It was dirty politics of NYS and the cozy relationship by Nano with the Governer and city of Buffalo
The last Gov was not openly hostile to Buffalo, unlike the last several administrations. I'd not call it "cozy" more like leveling the playing field to what the Capitol region and the down state region had enjoyed through the 80's and 90's.
Had UB gotten it's way, today there wouldn't be 4 flagship campuses of the SUNY system and with that disproportionate funding advantages for your school.
All UB was asking for, in a nutshell, was more autonomy within reason to set tuition and to lease it's facilities. We were not asking for state money but yea, go ahead and run with that.
That kills you...so while you spin your BS here
Actually I just came in here to tell a conference mate to beat their foe. As I have done for Ohio teams several times. The fact it's Albany who's AE dominance has inflated their ego's was just an extra plus.
To bad for you that the rest of the state legislature saw through your Machiavellian schemes,
Drama Queen..
For the record, you guys are better when you get the hell out of the way and let Buffalo smash down walls for you. The Entire SUNY system would still be DIII had we not done the heavy lifting...
You're welcome..
If you want to discuss this further you know where to find me....
