Only did a quick glance but it appears all of the teams in the CIT at least have winning records.

We could win this whole thing or get bounced in the first round. My guess it will be somewhere in between.

I think we are getting more wry sarcasm from BTC re possible attendance figures. We have never drawn well for CIT or CBI games, though compared to other schools we draw decently. Will never forget the Brown CBI game under TOS when there were barely over 1000 in Convo. CIT run in Christians last year had decent crowds that got into the games but as I recall we were at abt 3500 for those games.

All of those games were over Spring Break though, that's where we will get a bump with the Students in town.

A couple years old but still an interesting article. $35,000 to host a first round game in 2014.

I'm hoping the students make the most of this game and come out in strong numbers to fill the O-Zone.

That's a mere bargain for the exposure we will receive. Call this an investment

Speaking of investments, it's March and I haven't seen how much we made/spent on the bowl game.

This tournament looks (RPI wise) like the MAC Tournament with four extra teams and us being the top seed.

Should be really good practice for the squad on many levels and I will take the banner (if we win).

To what exposure are you referring? There will be a score in fine print next to girls CYO. If you think playing extra games is great for next year, why would you play your seniors? I think this means nothing. We've played 33 games and the guys are tired after a long season. What if somebody gets hurt in this meaningless drivel? What does it prove if we win the tournament? It's like saying you stayed on the court at Grover until dinner time back in the day. Let them study for finals and enjoy the spring. They play/practice enough.

I love it - never left the court (at Grover). That is a classic and a real point of pride back in the day.

Remember our mutual friend, Alan, who claims to be the all-time scoring leader at Grover? Apparently he kept a record at home of every point he scored in every pick-up game he played. He's a legend in his own mind! ;-)

This is easily the worst group of teams in any the tournaments. The winner of the Ohio-Albany game very likely will win it all.

I don't know about likely but they will be the favorite. Clearly there is more to these matchups than seeding by resume. I guess who ups for a home game and how far everyone has to travel plays a big role. It is odd they Ohio is matched up against one of the best teams.

BTW, am I crazy or are more and more teams turning down bids to these things every year? A lot of this field looks pretty bad. One might guess that maybe it would spell the death of one tournament soon but I guess the powers that be see more potential. They added another one just this year.

was Brown the weekend it snowed massively in mid OHIO.? IIRC we left Muncie and it took 7 hours to get down there. US 35 was one lane from Xenia on and my 4wd found a couple of ruts to stay in...270 was next to closed with ice. I was surprised 1k made that one.

I don't remember anything out of the ordinary weather-wise, but that was a while ago... It was the first year of the CBI and I think it was mostly an issue of no one knowing what in the hell it was

Again, campus was closed for Spring Break and all the locals schools were also on break. This year will be different.

It was finals week, not Spring Break. Game was 3/18/08, Res. Halls closed 3/21/08. Still dinishes student turnout.

shower thought this morning-

2012- Ohio makes it to Sweet 16 in NCAA.
2013- Ohio was good enough to win the NIT, loses in 1st round.
2014- Ohio was good enough to win the CIT, lost by 2 in Quarterfinals.
2015- N/A
2016- Ohio is good enough to win CBI.

I don't think its unrealistic to say that we could have won the NIT in '13 and the CIT in '14 if we had had our heads on straight and gave 100%. And I think we have a great shot of winning the CBI this year and the players' attitudes seem to be much better. I hope we hang a banner and check the CBI off the list.

Are locals going to see the name Albany and think its a high school game? Talk about a diminutive pairing.
