Well deserved honor for Coach Hunter. And an excellent event put on by the Basketball Hall of Fame. Was in attendance last year, and was a very nice event. Did not have shuttle service, but was a very enjoyable time.

Jeff, I believe anyone can buy tickets. My understanding is the cost is $80/ticket.

Yes anyone can buy tickets, last years speaker was Bobby Knight, and he was a great story teller and had a good message.

Message? For $80 he should throw in some groceries.

The HOF is likely including his very successful run at Wittenberg.

The article discusses his career at Wittenberg a lot more than at Ohio.

Spoke with Coach Hunter last year at the banquet as several of his friends and two Bobcat greats were inducted; Dave Jamerson and Marlene Stollings.

This link was the first mention I saw of his induction.

Here's a list of inductees. Really surprised that Gary Trent isn't in.

Hunter came in and started winning right away at Wittenberg. That program he came to had Tom "the Gun" Dunn....one of the best shooters I have ever seen in HS ball from Covington OH, Greg Seay from Tippecanoe and some really nice pieces he put together for a D3 runner up and then a National Championship the next year.

Dunn put up 1700 points before there was 3 pt line. Most of his shots would have been well beyond the HS arc. http://pressprosmagazine.com/the-best-there-ever-was /

Larry took some talent and made them better.

I know that I will attend the banquet , hope to see other Bobcats there. Each table will have 8 people seated there, got to fill the table that night.
The teams fron the village of Oxford will also be honored, not sure I can handle that one. Might have to leave the room during the speeches
