Torvik says Bobcats over APSU by 9.

Haslametrics predicts Bobcats by around 7.

T R says 80% chance of a Bobcats win.

Hate to call a random out of conference game a "must win" but this is one.

Hansel Emmanuel for APSU has been out the past few games with a back injury. In case you don't know who that is, he had an arm amputated when he was a child but is still more than good enough to play D1 basketball.

This is the first OHIO basketball game I will be able to see in person due to my recent travel schedule. I'm sure the LV folks are considering that when they set their odds! wink

I've seen a couple of his highlights on social media. Dude has some hops.

It doesn't look like AP has had its full rotation for most of the season. Sai Witt and Isaac Haney have only played 5 and 7 games as 2nd/3rd leading scorers. As pointed out, Emmanuel has only played 5 games.

Only 3 players who average more than 20 mpg have played in all 10 games. AP is not as bad as the record indicates -- beat Butler on the road at full strength. Even at home, we might dodge a bullet pending who is available for them.

The line is now Bobcats by 12.5 (sounds like APSU might be shorthanded)

Covering the spread or not....this is a MUST win.

We found someone who may play worse perimeter defense than us. Nice to see us burying them.

Austin Peay's coach seems to have never served in the military, but for some reason is wearing a full combat uniform on the sidelines? Huh?

We really struggle with C/F guys that outweigh our interior players by 30+ lbs.

We need an Ed Sears/Ryan Greenwood/Jeff Boals type player.

Clarksville TN where APSU is, next to the 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell

The most famous former 101st paratrooper? Jimi Hendrix, of course.

A game to get it right, but man, AP was very short-handed. Surprised Boals kept the starters in as late as he did. Brutal last 10 minutes of basketball.

For all of the criticism, PAV continues to put up numbers and good to see his 3 point shot back. Not much more to say until MAC season rolls around.

They said he got permission from someone in the military to wear it all season long to honor the troops. I am as hardcore about honoring troops as anyone but I agree it is a little weird.

Yep, super weird. At first I thought he must be in the reserves or something, and still thought it was weird that he'd wear it to his civilian job.

I'm all for honoring the troops, too. I lived on a military base for basically the first 18 years of my life. But people who have never served wearing the uniform seems off-limits to me.

Tough to gauge with AP not at full strength, but a win is a win. Pending something catastrophic, 6-6 going into conference is probably the best we can ask for, although disappointing.

Back-to-back rough shooting games for Hadaway. I wish he’d abandon the 3 at this point. He’s shooting 30%. If you remove the season opener where he went 3/6, he’s only shooting 25% and hasn’t hit more than 1 3PA in a game since.

Games last night for AJC are two fold. It’s great when he’s on from deep. However, it’s also games like this that lead to him taking more 3PA’s than 2PA’s. According to his BBR page, AJC leads the MAC in 2P FG% at 66%. Even with that, he’s still averaging 8 3PA a game in comparison to just 5 2PA a game.

Pav is legit. He looks more comfortable and confident, get this man some bigs he can drive and dump off to next year.

Especially on the road. I'm not a vet but I'd be a little perplexed and even offended if a visiting coach pulled that stunt. Just do it at home games where people understand what is going on.

What gets me is a couple of possessions in each game where a defensive switch leads to a smaller (much smaller last night) player on AJC and AJC doesn't take advantage of the mismatch. Case in point was early in the game yesterday when, instead of backing his defender down for an easy look, he threw out to Hadaway, who missed the 3-pt attempt. When he does attack the smaller defender, which he did once or twice later in the game, helps pad his high 2P FG%.

Speaking of mismatches, there was a 2nd-half fastbreak for AP where their 5-8 frosh took it to AJC, resulting in perhaps the easiest block in AJC's career.

On another note, AJC had way too many lazy, unfocused passes, leading to 6 turnovers. I guess it's easy to lose focus in games like last night.

I am as big of a Captain Chaos fan as anyone, but numbers don't lie. He shouldn't be allowed to shoot the 3 ball. This is another reason why not being able to play Nicol and Evans hurts. Would be nice to have had at least one of these guys available to get some potential Chaos minutes as well, but clearly that isn't happening the rest of the season. Nicol not being able to contribute just a few quality minutes per game is a bad swing and miss for Boals up to this point. And quite frankly, just the limited time Nicol has gotten, he doesn't look that strong with his build to where he can compete at this level. With the 6-6/6-7 guys Boals is bringing in with the next recruiting class, I don't see how Nicol sticks around. I hope he proves me wrong.

Does anyone know when Kuany will be eligible? Or is he now and just not getting run? He looks freakishly athletic in warmups, albeit with a very thin frame.

Seems like good logic to me, and is definitely odd to me that he'd do it all the time. I'd be curious to know what the local fans think of it.

There were some folks that suggested he should be playing less, and that when Reef was back he'd be closer to like 10 minutes a game and fall behind AJ in the rotation, as well. Don't think it's a very big cadre of folks though.

He did have some struggles early on, especially with TOs and getting shots blocked at the rim. I think he's responded nicely and I'm looking forward to watching him battle it out against the other MAC pgs.
