A thought just occurred to me that this Ohio team would benefit by having a Treg Setty type player. Not only did he bring incredible energy when he got into a game but that energy also seemed to transfer to the other players on the floor with him. Obviously, we need a lot more than just a single fix, but having a player of this type would, IMHO, certainly help.

I think Hadaway is a really good comp.

Hadaway is Treg Setty with a lot more dunks.

I understand why you might make this comparison, and it has some validity, but to me Hadaway doesn’t have quite the energizing effect that Setty did when he entered the game. To me he is kind of Setty Light rather than Setty 2.0.

Hadaway is a great comp and, forgetting his performance in Myrtle Beach, I would take Hadaway over Setty.

In terms of "energy", they are the same. How does a guy get the nickname "Captain Chaos" without energy? They both play up to home and away crowds. They make hustle plays

Statistically, senior year Treg Setty is better than junior year Hadaway so far. I'd love for Hadaway to make that final jump that Setty did. Take those 50,000 threes in the offseason. Incorporate more to the bag. Based on naked eye, Treg made up for a lack of athleticism with more creativity in getting his own shot. Lots of euros, head fakes, and step throughs.

Treg was a better ball handler than Hadaway is, but Aidan def more athletic. I think if he works on his handles you'd see a more confident (and dangerous) Hadaway from the perimeter that could help him make that jump.

We don't need a Treg Setty, we need a Mychal Green.

As long as we are going this route, how about a Don Hilt? Most of you will have to look him up, but he was what today would be called a power forward. Probably couldn't jump as high as Trent, but his dunks were generally more thunderous and he could put them up in traffic with the best of them. If we had him on this current team, we wouldn't be worried about our inside game or offensive rebounding.

Back on subject, I hope you guys are right about Hadaway developing into Setty 2.0. So far I don't see it, but I can see the potential.

I wouldn't mind a Trent, DJ Cooper, and Lewis Geter, who, by the way, was in the convo for the RMU game.

This isn't the first time you've said it, so I'll bite. Is Gus Jhonson Gus Johnson's long lost Swedish cousin?

I was late to come around on Treg when he was here. I felt like those first couple of years, he was high energy but crossed into the "but out of control" territory too often. I honestly didn't trust him on the floor and expected a lot of mistakes. Senior Treg, for me, seemed more controlled and was far more reliable. When he graduated, I wished we had one more year of him in Athens.

This team would be so much better with a Devo Washington.

In case anyone was wondering, Treg had three dunks in his Ohio career. vs Depaul in Hawaii, vs Buffalo in the MAC Tournament, and at WMU.
