If its mental health related, I get that can be a tricky thing to handle from a coaching perspective. That begs the question though, is it Boals' responsibility to take care of this young man? It sounds harsh but he's on an athletic scholarship but not participating in any athletics.
When Michael Brown was away from the team... they said he was away from the team, and also mentioned he was dealing with personal issues, eventually it was mental health issues when he stepped away entirely.
Even if it's his choice to suffer in silence, does his mental health only get impacted for two hours on game day? Cause by all accounts, he's practicing daily. He's in all team activities.
