According to Jeff Goodman https://twitter.com/GoodmanESPN/status/723257930812932096

@GoodmanESPN: Wadly Mompremier has opted not to transfer and remain at Ohio U, sources told ESPN. No one’s weekend just got as good as Saul Phillips’.

There's no way Ohio goes into next season with virtually the same team right? Sub out Treg for Jason and that's it? I can't see it.

He realized that no one else would have him?

No way. There are a lot of D-1 teams in Florida who would love him.

It will be interesting to see if he gets his scholarship back. I guess a lot of that depends on how we do in recruiting in the upcoming days.

I feel good about all but one of the players from a 23-12 team coming back with another year of experience.

Can't say I recall ever seeing this happen anywhere. Hopefully Wadley & everyone is honest and open about how this all went down instead it just being an awkward and confusing blip.

Regardless, I'm happy he will be back. He will be a big part of replacing Treg's minutes.

Maybe this actually is a very close and tight knit team and once he announced the others convinced him to stay.

Saul has restored Wadly's scholarship, per Arkley...

It is. The bad part is they don't even know it.

I hope he spends the summer working on making lay-ups. Very bizarre situation to say the least. I'll say this about Saul...he's probably one of only a handful of coaches in college hoops who would restore a scholarship in this situation.

This feels like good news. Glad to welcome Wadly back, hoping he's able to put a full season together next year. He's a solid piece I think.

I don't know of another situation where it's gone down like this. Anybody?

I'm happy to know we're a program that will let it play out like this, though. Feels like a family kind of place.

Wadly to return, not to transfer.

AC likely to return, not to NBA.

Will more of our guys announce that they're not going anywhere?

jk...sort of.

Rumors of Wadly Mompremier's demise were greatly exaggerated.

I agree with this. I would be interested to understand the dynamics of how this went down. Was it a Wadly really wants to be closer to home scenario, or a play for hopefully more PT? Agree with others who have said they wish he'd been given a redshirt season. It really would have helped in the long run.
