I wrestle with this after every season, thinking about whether young players who haven't produced at a high level should stay or leave. Naturally, we'd like to have more scholarships to offer, looking to bring in a couple of players we hope will have an immediate impact. But part of building a program, especially on the mid-major level, is having the patience to let your younger players develop. There have been many players in the program, Treg Setty and Kenneth van Kempen immediately come to mind, who made significant contributions as seniors. What you don't want to see are players you've already went through growing pains with transfer and have big seasons at other schools.
