Since it is the season maybe we can do a coaching carousel thread and keep em all under one heading. That way the board does not get muddled up with multiple TOS to threads and those that don't want to partake of the commonly accepted carousel alert does not have to open the thread

I can start with Johnny Dawkins

TOS to ....Stanford

Johnny Dawkins out. Wow. I guess the on court results weren't there, but it's still a little surprising.

They should write a blank check and slide it across Mark Few's desk.

I can't say I disagree with that approach Shaba. I'm hoping he's the first target, and not Archie Miller.

He made the tournament one time in 8 seasons, had a losing conference record and never finished better than 10-8 in the PAC 12. As we've seen it is hard to miss the tournament in the big conferences. The Coach K coaching tree has a long history of mediocrity.

Well, he made the sweet 16 in 2014, won the NIT in 2012 and 2015 and was 156-115 overall there. Seemed like he did pretty well in the last few years, not so much this year in an emerging conference. The new guy better be pretty good.

Ask yourself, if an Ohio coach had a losing conference record in 8 seasons and 10-8 was our best conference record during his tenure would you be okay with that? The Cardinal never reached the conference tournament final in his 8 seasons and only made the semis once. They had a losing record over their last ten regular season games in every season but one (6-4). They did have good success in the NIT but they also didn't play a single road game in 2012 and 2015. They did in 2013 and, of course, lost. But when you have the basketball budget that Stanford has NIT appearances don't cut it.

Probably not too happy. I guess I have to ask-why was he there 8 years? Most of the better work in his last 3 of 4 years.

I think they were hoping he would take that next step but it never happened. And instead of stepping up they backslid this year. Consistently average is a good way to get fans to stop paying attention. Particularly if your huge rival from across the bay has been to the dance in 5 times to your 1 in those years.
