It appears DJ will be playing in the summer league again for the Washington Wizards.

I've got this unrelenting belief he will find his way to onto some NBA roster one day...

I'm right there with you. I've watched enough mediocre NBA point guards to believe that he could be a productive player on a roster. He was a better college PG than at least a third of the guys in the league now.

I'm socked that N'Dour isn't on a roster this summer. Defensively he seems like exactly the sort of "switchable" big that thrives in the NBA these days.

It appears Ndour is busy representing Senegal in FIBA Olympic Qualifying:

Senegal will have to beat Turkey tomorrow to stay in contention.

Obviously this is DJ's big opportunity. IF he can do all the things was is good at AND improve his 3 point shooting he will have a shot. It's that simple in my view.

I have to wonder how much a BB player can improve this part of his game after trying for so many years. Perhaps Tommie Freeman can help answer that question.

Heard from DJ's dad that the Wizards game vs. Utah will be on NBA TV this evening at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time. We plan to watch.

Interesting question about mechanics. I've been fortunate over the last couple of decades to have been around several people who have played professional baseball, basketball and football. All pretty much say the same thing about the mechanics of hitting or fielding a baseball, making a shot or catching a football -- it's not repetitions by themselves that tell the story. It's correct repetitions. And, there has been some research -- at least per one of my baseball buddies -- that suggests it takes exponentially more correct repetitions to correct mistakes. This doesn't get into the mental aspect of things -- which can be a factor. In addition, when it comes to competition, you have to factor in the physical attributes of the athletes. Height, strength, quickness are all variables. Experience, knowledge of self and opponent, and good repetitions can help take advantage of strengths or minimize shortcomings; as well as minimize opponent strengths and exploit their shortcomings. Just my perspective.

Coop started, played 22 min. 2-4, 6pts. 6reb, 5ast, 1stl, 1TO. Could have had twice as many assts if there weren't some cold shooters. Played against Aaron Craft, 6pts 3TOs. Made several no look passes with ease, as you expect. Looked like he belonged on the court. Would be interesting to see Cooper join the Wizards when their other guards include John Wall and Trey Burke. DJ and his MJ sized chip on his shoulder would have plenty of fuel for his fire with those 2.

Setty tweeted about the game "Watching my bro @Djcoop5 play... Makes the game look so easy with his decision making. Best passer I've ever played with nobody close"

Looks like today's game at 4 p.m. Eastern will be on NBA TV per website. It should also be on ESPN3.

Not such a good game for Cooper in an 88-80 loss. He had 3 points, going 0-3 from the field (all 3s) and 3-5 on FTs. He had 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 turnover, 1 block in 21 minutes.

Take it a step further, only saw the fourth quarter but he got beat badly three time on defense. Granted these are AAU type teams but you've got to play D.

He kept trying to over the top on the screen and was unable to catchup, especially against Pangos.

DJ looks like he put on some muscle since his days in Athens. Would like to have seen him be a little more aggressive on offense. He made some good passes but didn't really create as much as I'm used to seeing. Numbers would have been better if some of the guys he was playing with could catch the ball cleanly.

Looking over last nights stat sheet DJ did some good things, but 5 fouls in 20 or so minutes stood out as something he needs to work on.
He did take 2-2points shots and made both. He did not take any 3 pointers.
There is still time for him to impress, but he needs to hurry up or else he will be back in Europe this fall.

He will be back in Europe this Fall. the NBA summer league sounds good because it says NBA but it's just something to do between seasons in Europe for 99% of these players.

The ship has sailed, and it's docked in Europe.

I'm going to be honest. I choose a life in Monaco or Greece over being the 14th man for the Washington Formerly Known as Bullets.

I think it's instructive that DJ continues to do everything on the court regardless of the competition. He's still a stat stuffer. in yesterday's game: 4 points, 4 assists, 3 steals, 5 rebounds in 21 minutes. 5 rebounds? He's 5'11" out there amongst the trees.

Way back when I thought they should've changed their name to the DC Lotteries. Their odds of winning an NBA championship were 2.5 million to 1.
