A great coach but more important--a great lady. Ask people in Knoxville and the state of Tenn- and the conversation about Pat will be a long one

My company did bookstore business at the University of Tenn, their shade of orange was good but the Lady Vols were better. A street is named after Coach Pat-- not sure Payton has this honor yet

Bring this back to Afhens and Bobcat U-- ask Bob B how much the Lady Cats owe to Pat-- ask all women coaches and players the same--- it will be a long conversation

RIP. Coach

One of the news reports last night was talking about the graduation rate at Tenn.when Pat Summit was their coach.

They said that 100% of her scholarship players, who used their 4 years of eligibility at Tenn., graduated.

Agree on all counts. The world lost a great coach and apparently even better person. Thoughts and prayers.

I always respected her as a coach.
Then I read her autobiography.
She was an amazing person.

Trying not to be a discriminatory person here, but...

...if there was one woman who could coach men at a high level and probably win consistently at a high level it was Pat Summitt. Just reading about her makes me want to play for her as a man. And she would probably make me pee myself the first day.

Saw a better one than that:

Every player who played for Pat Summitt from 1979 to 2011 played in at least one Final Four. That is UNREAL.

Thank goodness for people like Pat who brought sports for women out of the dark ages. As for the graduation quote, no offense intended, but it's another one of those made up sounds good statistics that upon further examination should illicit a collective - "duh." One would think that after four or five years of college, one would graduate.
