were the rest of the folks "in the room" on the committee there as well? It is nice if that they put the guys on the selection committee up close given how many hours they spend while volunteering to put the tournament field together.

On the subjexct of Fine seats....I listened to a sports show today where a reporter was lamenting the loss of Media seats to the broadcasts from each home team, the TBS folks and several other entities....then he talked about the families of the athletes being "right behind the bench" with a snide comment. In listening to his rant over the loss of seats to family members I was reminded of something I read in an NCAA press release. It was of special interest to me as there was talk of violations when Butler's Matt Howard's parents (a really humble and extremely nice couple) received donations to get them to the championships a few years back. 7 kids and living in Connersville IN they were of modest means. When community folks who knew them raised money there was talk of NCAA having a problem with that. Nice to see the NCAA taking an inclusive approach now. I don't know if this irate media guy did not read the release. Makes the tournament consistent with the regular season....individual athletic department policies notwithstanding.

Mark Lewis, NCAA executive vice president of championships and alliances, said the Division I men’s and women’s basketball committees are dedicated to including student-athlete families as a part of the overall championships experience.

During the 2013 Men’s Final Four, the NCAA provided free tickets to student-athlete families and moved their seats behind the respective team benches. During the 2014 Men’s Final Four, the NCAA also hosted a special reception for student-athlete family members.

He was in St. Louis for the First/Second Round games and I think in Chiacgo for Regionals. Pretty cool.

Serving on the selection committee is an honor to named too, not a burdensome on your time. The digs they are forced to stay in and the perks of their appointment are of the highest quality. Hearing the stories of the process and the benefits received are something that every DI Athletic Director wants to experience. And it's great that our AD was chosen to participate.

Guys. We wouldn't understand. We've never given our time to do anything. Listen to him. He knows.
