Once again, Elton Alexander is the MAC writer.
The MAC once again is classified as a "major" conference that is trying to transcend being one bid. He cites the conference hovering around the top 10 in RPI the last couple of years.
He picks Ohio to win the East and the MAC tournament, although he thinks there's probably about 8 teams that could win the tournament. He rates Jason Carter as the number one newcomer to the league. He thinks Big Tone is the favorite to win the MVP, though Simmons also is in the mix. (Inexplicably, he only rates Jaaron as the 7th best player in the league, behind Maric etc). He doesn't seem to think Ohio's defense will be much better this year. He seems enamored with Wadly, saying he is a key defensive presence...I'm not sure where he's getting that. He says Ohio has the best home court advantage.
Another head scratcher...he says there has not been a consistent program in the league over the past 10 years. I'd have to say Akron has been.
Will post more later.

Doesn't say anything about an "eye test". Guess he hasn't barnstorm toured around the league cities yet.

Hah, if I recall that article comes out just before league play starts. "Of all the two teams I've seen play..."

By the way, the Post has been running articles this week featuring specific players. Today was Kenny Kaminski, yesterday was Gavin Block. I found the tone of Block's article interesting. I have been assuming he would slide right into Treg's vacated starting spot but Saul was pretty non-committal about it saying that will depend on how much stronger he's gotten in the offseason. It may be nothing but after reading his glowing quotes on Carter and Culver it surprised me.

I didn't notice that, I guess I've been delinquent in paying attention to The Post via twitter. Thanks for sharing! For everyone else, I grabbed the links of everything I found since the schedule was released:
