Was there a schedule included it in?

I wish there were a schedule in it. We've been around long enough to know that we won't see that until late August.

Is this a sales and marketing technique that is now being taught in sports marketing? Tough to sell something that the customer isn't sure what is being purchased.

Is it tough to sell?

I bet Ohio season ticket sales are UP this year. Ohio leads the MAC in attendance. Ohio leads the MAC in student attendance. Ohio leads the MAC in revenue. yada yada yada

It's either not that tough to sell or the Ohio AD has some real good salesmen.

I think something to consider is that this early renewal, before the schedule comes out, assumes a few things:

*Some people renewing are going to renew regardless of the schedule. (I'm one)

*The early renewal helps Ohio's ticketing office manage some of the workload over several months instead of one.

These thoughts aside, I REALLY don't see why the MAC can't announce conference scheduling in July, or at least August 1st. Non-conference games, for the most part, have no bearing on their plans.

I predict Ohio will play everyone in the east division at home once. Probably will play at least half the west at home.

Have renewed and/or upgraded every year for 28 yrs. Early option is nothing more than that - schedule will not change if we all go early....

that's crazy. Although my exposure to sports is linited.....I have really never heard a rabble of fans saying "well I am gonna wait to see who my favorite team is playing" before renewing season tics.

I understand your underlying premise and respect that but of all my friends with Bears tix, Bulls tix, UC, UD, Pacers, Muncie Central, Balls, UK, Blackhawks, Butler, UI and many more you are the first one I have heard consider not buying tics based on who is on the schedule. Maybe you will start a trend.... perhaps like Hawkeye in that classic M A S H episode you can get the entire Convo yelling "we want something else" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sqBYziYBAs

THe OP started a countdown to look forward to basketball season. I am respectful of that and excited but I know there is much work to be done and lots of moves to me made this summer. For now, Black Expo is this weekend so I can go over to the park to bide my time and catch some hoops and I can take advantage of the month of july to follow the summer ball tourneys and recruiting. It is a long summer and every day counts in the life of a baller to get ready. A new class is on campus joining the current cats lifting, shooting, running open gyms and the ticket office is starting to garner some momentum getting renewals out. THe schedule is not ready yet just as it has never been set in July. Renewals have been going on for decades in spite of that. All is well in Bobcat land. Life is good..... I think generally everyone knows what to expect of the home schedule before it's announced. There probably won't be any non-conference home games to get really excited about and probably only a couple that are somewhat intriguing. I can't imagine there are more than a few people swayed one way or the other as far as buying tickets based on who Ohio schedules.

Just got my 2017 season ticket renewal for the Indians. I have to assume that all of the games won't be against the Twins and Rays on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. BTW, GO TRIBE!!
