Pitino's troubles at Minnesota.

I recall some on this board loved Pitino and wanted him to replace Groce. Looks like we came out ahead.

Winning basketball games isn't close their biggest problem.

Several wrestlers got busted for selling Xanax.

There are also questions as to exactly what the coach knew and when.

Maybe he can adopt his father's "Shocked, I tell you, shocked!" routine.

Don't get me started. Pitino the father should have been fired at Louisville. Minnesota should fire the kid. How is he still there?

Athletics is one of the top 3 liabilies for university presidents. Thank goodness for social media and traditional media for exposing this scrofulous enterprise. Unfortunately, the cleansing of its immoral essence at all levels (manager, coach, athlete, booster, athlete family, etc.) seems insurmountable.

When I see situations like UM and / or Baylor, I can't help but think of the influences that the desire to be relevant in a P5/Major-Major environment have on institutional actions and the decisions of otherwise rational people. It's a small reason why I remain happy that Ohio is (apparently) not chasing that golden ring endlessly. (Sorry, Monroe.)

Wasn't Scrofulous was the Roman god of debauchery?
