I didn't realize you couldn't play an exhibition game on the road. Wonder what the reasoning behind that is?

Didn't Ohio do this with Xavier a couple years ago? It's not really counted as an exhibition it's more like a practice?

I remember a Xavier closed door scrimmage, and I think maybe one of the JC years they played Va Tech.

As I recall, we've done the closed door scrimmage with Ohio State previously and Radford. I think you're right about VaTech.

Just read this from Arkley on Twitter:

It won't matter a lick, but hearing Ohio fared well in today's MBK scrimmage at OSU.

He has elaborated a little more since. Said Ohio led the whole way. Ohio's freshmen played a lot and Bobcats were plus on the boards.

So much for the "Secrecy" of the scrimmage that the NCAA requires ;)

IIRC someone tweeted the box score of the Xavier scrimmage we did a few years back.

I have a feeling it is going to be a long year for the Poison Nuts in Hoops this year. JG might actually have a good shot at sweeping his mentor

I would hope we could hang and/or beat the Stinky Nuts this year. They have had so much turnover with graduation/transfers/early NBA entrants that it was a matter of time that they would not have depth. What they are missing is senior leadership. OUr guys have TONS of that. I am sure Jaaron was untouched and I don't remember OSUcks having an inside presence. Hopefully Central Ohio kids Carter and Culver were extra motivated too.

Arkley added today that Campbell, Kaminski, Dartis, Simmons and Block were the starters. Carter and Culver both played 20+ minutes. Six different players had nine or more points.

I don't think OSU is nearly as bad as you're making them out to be. Yes, they had a mess last year with all the departures, but they still return five guys who are four to five star recruits that have played major minutes.

Making the performance more impressive, our best player only played one half.

Mixture of rationalizing and hand-wringing on tOSU boards. Unfortunately not much more information than we have here. We led the entire game by a sizeable margin and they cut it to 9 at the end. They seemed most worried by the report that we killed them on the boards. Apparently they feel that should be their biggest strength this year.

Their board(s) also has a discussion about the possibility of Jaaron taking his talents to o$u as a fifth-year graduate student.

Once again the elephant in the room raises its trunk. Hope Arkley asks Jaaron whether he intends to get his degree this year and, if so, what his intentions will be after that...Certainly Jaaron had to be very pleased with the way "his guys" played, maybe to the point where he'd consider going to OSU a step backward.

Let's hope the Brown kid in Vegas, one of the top PGs in the country, really is considering OSU as he claims, and puts on a Buckeye hat when he announces...

Why should Arkley ask that question? We all know that it's high unlikely anyone answers that question directly, Jaaron included. It's a legitimate concern for coaches and fans, but I'd be willing to bet that he isn't thinking about that too much right now.

I think the only way that would be a worry is if we crash and burn this year or if Saul leaves. And this offense is a point guard's dream IMO.
