Downright slim! Great for mobility and stamina if it came from cardio but is he still a big banger?

Good article in the Post today on Doug Taylor: http://www.thepostathens.com/article/2016/10/doug-taylor-...

Tony quoted in the article saying they both worked on their bodies together. It says Doug grew an inch, but still lost 7 pounds.

Obviously worked very hard. Still not a Gary Trent type. Wonder if he is thinking more a perimeter player is where his future lies? In the MAC, he should be one of the bigger stronger post guys, I think.

MILLIONS of $'s guaranteed contract offers on the line after this year. NBA or Euro Leagues. And Tone knows it. And so does Taylor right behind Tone, in support of Tone.

This is a perfect scenario. Big, and sorta big, other MAC "dogs" will be pound bound TY....

I'm sure Antonio can still bring the physical. Though more chiseled, one would still respect his size--but plenty.

Think back to his physique during his first year--chugging...He's really built it up year by year. Visible difference annually.

And hearing that DT is more muscle than freshman flab is good to hear as well. I thought he had a tremendous freshman year and some people forget that he missed an entire year with a torn ACL. That couldn't have been easy. If he can get up and down the court more and give us more minutes it would be great to have our "BIG DOUG" take on Kron's "BIG DOG" while Tone decimates Kwan Cheatham.

As an aside, check out Laster and Harley as well. Both are not Schwartzeneggaresque but both do appear to have a bit more weight on them which bodes well for them to give us some good minutes too while Carter and Culver adapt.

I would love to see side by side pics of Tone as Freshman/Senior. Pretty remarkable transformation. Good to see all of the hard work paying off.

We are Russell's premier school. Recruits are tied, in many cases, to the the AAU club they play for... If you follow recruiting boards (I don't expect that you would ALan) you will see rrecruits and their coaches steering them, to gravitate toward schools that have the same logo as the team they play AAU for....

Adidas and Nike and now Under Armour (the one I said on here after giving a lecture at Auburn and seeing what they were doing with UA in 2008 that we should be courting before they blew up), have been influencing the decisions of recruits for a looooooooong time. I am not sure Saul's recruiting philosophy has anything to do with it as he is a different kind of cat but it would not hurt us to land an Under Armour contract. If you follow folks in the know in Summer Ball you would see in the undercurrent that the state of Ohio is a major target for UA sponsorship at the lower grade of AAU levels.

Long convoluted answer which I am sure will make your blood boil as it reeks of influence and unfairness but it is reality and you can tilt at that windmill all you want but it ain't changing Don Quixote.

Kinda sad that the shine which should come from being Russell's #1 (didn't know that!) is so offset by the AAU-sponsor level influence of Nike, UA, Adi-das.

Pretty much us Ga Tech and Western Ky. Other than that it is the SWAC, Historically Black universities and random small D1 s

Fascinating stuff. I had never heard that. My son's team became an Under Armour team prior to last season. Here in Maryland they are huge but I didn't realize there was any relation to recruiting. I guess it all makes sense though.

Van--Isn't the founder of Under Armor a MD grad?

If so, does he support MD like Nike does Oregon ...or even a part of that HUGE amount?

He does. Not sure how he compares to Phil Knight but he has given somewhere around $50M to the University of Maryland with about half of that earmarked for athletics and the rest going to the business school. He's also put a ton of money into some other programs around here including his old high school, St. John's College High School ($16M)and a bunch to several youth programs around Maryland.

Van has a great answer but my initial reaction in reading this was....Have you seen Marylands FB unis the last few years? They are definitely getting some primo design. THey had white helmets with graphics vs Indiana last week.

Yeah, as Van eluded to, Under Armour is absolutely trying to turn Maryland into a athletic powerhouse. Facilities, uniforms, you name it.
