Does anyone keep seeing this thread and reading it as "Saul Phillips is encouraging people to live in Cincy?" Just me?

The english language is a tricky one.
eats shoots and leaves.

It is, indeed. I have shared your observation of the thread title. Of interest to me was the assertion on Facebook and in the popular press that correcting grammar, spelling and diction is a racist phenomenon. Therefore, I have been reticent to comment.

I would assume most of posters on BA are of a homogenous population that would not fit the diatribe...nevertheless, I would not want those who do not know me to label me less of a person trying to effectively communicate ideas and more of a "old white hater"...so I abstained till now of posting my thoughts.

Live and live. Hmmmm yep...the interwebs need emoticons and inflections...or better titles (and less tittles in my case)

That expression goes way back before the 1960s. It was actually, I hate to admit this, a reaction to Miami calling itself the "Yale of West" back in the 1830s, or so. Not sure Harvard on the Hocking goes back quite that far, but it is a very old expression predating the 1960s by multiple decades at least.
