Once again, cancer proves that it may in fact suck worse than Miami. And that's a whole lotta suckage. We love the Phillips family!

Following the lead of Nicole Phillips(read her blog and Arkley's tweet last night), I picked up the tab of two elderly women eating lunch at Bob Evans today. It felt good.

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1963, at age 47, and was operated on for bowel cancer in about 1985 at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital. She died of congestive heart failure in 2008 at age 91. The elder of the my two younger sisters was diagnosed at The James with breast cancer in about 1985 and under went both a mastectomy and high-dose chemotherapy. She is still going strong 18 years later and is cancer free. So this disease can be beaten. Prayers for the Phillips family and for a complete recovery for Mrs. Phillips.

Sad to hear. Good blog. 8 months into recovery I can say "prayer works" and daily...seriously EverY day.... patients come in and say "we were prayin for ya " to which I always respond by asyin "thanks, it took every one of them"

Raising a prayer here for the Phillips family and Mom who is going through this with a grace and a message in the blog that is uplifting and well received

Definitely been keeping the Phillips Family in my thoughts recently. It sounds like they can beat this thing. God bless them.

Has anyone heard lately how things are going for Mrs. Phillips? I hope she's doing well and that the treatments are working.

Her surgery is today. True to herself, her thoughts last night, as she blogged, were of others. She asked that since she'll be recovering for a bit, that those who care about her please take over her acts of kindness.

Saul will be keeping folks updated on Nicole's FB pages and her blog (http://nicolejphillips.com/daily-dose/) today.

I heartily recommend reading Mrs. Phillips' blog-it's a fantastic read! Again, just another reminder to appreciate what we do have and the time that we have. My thoughts and prayers to her and I hope and pray for a speedy recovery.

I've been reading it since I first found out about her cancer.
Could not agree more.
Really shows what kind of people she and her husband are.

In case anyone hadn't read/heard, Nicole Phillips got good news today that she's cancer free following her surgery and won't need to go through chemotherapy. Great news for their family!
