Agreed Ted and the last comment in the article is very indicative of what a true rivalry is. We should play them every year.

He seems to have evolved some recently...not as much disrespect for Ohio and the MAC.

I think this football season broke Chuck.

I think they are slowly coming to the realization that the move they made, which seemed like a great move at the time for them, has blown up in their face. They are now stuck in a conference with MAC level competition without the benefits of the MAC. The shifting college landscape really kicked them in the nuts.

He gave ZERO credit to Ohio being a good program as a reason for it being a good win. New Chuck, same as Old Chuck.

I'm inferring it by certain code words and lack of use of other words. : )

Agree 100% on this. The Marshall rivalry should be tops in our non-conference scheduling in both sports. It would be nice if it would be on a Saturday a little more often for basketball though.

From the writing:

"That's why the Wednesday edition of the rivalry was the 102th game in the series."

102th. That must be Huntingtonese.

Good lord - it's a loss. Let's not lose our heads. This team will win the MAC and win the first round NCAA game! Book it!

Ha!
Double Ha! (Though I have to stand on record disliking those Appalachian stereotype jokes----especially from my Hoosier bro.)

Of course it was big. Is that even "news" to say that it was?

Marshall just lost to 5-4 Eastern Kentucky. It was a bump in the road for us. We have to come to play every game.

Maybe but just the mere fact that he is no longer saying that this is a game they have to win, or more accurately a game they should never lose, is a big step for him.

It was on the road. EKU is tough at home. Marshall wasn't "on" in this game if you look at the stats.
