I was driving tonight and somehow stumbled on Sirius and the final 30 seconds of Hartford's win over BC. The announcers for BC are absolutely flabbergasted and disgusted. They said this was easily one of the worst losses in the history of BC program. They questioned toughness and talent.

This team will not win a game again this year in the ACC. We'll see Jimmy C back in the MAC next year for sure.

But wait..how can his era be coming to an end? So many people on this board believe he is a great coach who did wonderful things for us in his 2 whole years here. After picking up what Stan Heath had created at Kent he built a powerhouse at TCU. What a resume!

Nailed it^^^^^. Jamie Dixon has done more in 8 games this year at TCU than JC ever did in his 4 years there. The man is about to go 0-36 in back to back ACC seasons. That will earn you a ticket to Bryant College. The BC announcers were ready to ship him out tonight. Glad he took off for the money after 24 months in Athens. Lord knows where the program would be right now if he didn't. #SaulBall

Hot take: I think Ohio would've been okay under Christian. Not where it is now, but okay. Like TOS tepid okay.

And that would not be OK enough. He took the OHIO job because he was a year away from getting fired at TCU. I think it took an absolute implosion at BC for this board to come around that Jim Christian isn't all that.

Agreed. He would've done just well enough to make a firing unjustified and we'd have to wait out that long contract stuck in basketball purgatory of not being bad but not being good enough to win an NCAA tournament game.

BC has 3 seniors- a 4yr backup and 2 grad transfers (Tava from WMU and Jeffers from BYU), zero juniors, and 9 fresh and sophs. JC messed up when he knew all last season he would have at least 7 schollies to fill and only had 3 verbals by the end of the season. This team was cut and paste together at the last possible moment, I'm surprised they've won any games. JC was given a contract extension at the end of last season too, he'll be back next year with a promise that he'll finally start to compete now that he has "his guys".

Let's not forget how generous it was of BC to pay us 500K for the "privilege" of hiring JC. It was money we used to get Saul...

Forgot that. Thanks BC! Even if Saul would leave after this year he would have actually built something. JC didnt even MAINTAIN. Could you imagine Saul with the DJ and Walt team following NCAAs?

Saul has DJ and Walt this year. He may be a nice guy, but he has not proven that he is a great coach.

Ivo kind of tailed off, but we have a great team team just like JC had. What will Saul do with it? I hope we get hot and win the conference, otherwise it is the CBI again

I won't even fight you on that controversial statement. I'd put Jaaron & Tony pretty close to even with DJ & any of his teammates.

I think what made the DJ team special was the unsung glue guys like Rico..Nick..TJ..Jon and even Reg..who are the glue guys outside of Jordy Simmons and Tone?

Kaminsky and Culver, we have two seniors sitting on the bench. We can make excuses, we have the returning MAC player of the year. Two All MAC newcomers and a Big ten transfer in his second year. JC has won MAC championships. It is time for Saul to win some.

this team does not have a Walt, that's the missing ingredient compared to 2012.

Cooper - Simmons
Kellogg - Dartis
Offutt - ????
???? - Block
Baltic - Kaminski
Keely - Campbell

Smith/Johnson/Hall - D Taylor/Culver/Carter
S Taylor - Laster/Harley
Jacobs - Mompremier

BUT, just because Block isn't Walt doesn't mean this team can't be as good or better as the 2012 team.

He did share a regular season MAC title and recruit Tony Campbell, so let's not pretend nothing positive happened from his brief stint here.

Comparing the two teams, 2012 and 2016-17, to me is just silly. Everything about the two is different.

One thing I'll agree with is that every team would be better by having a player like Walt, and a bench player like Ric.

For me, the time to really make any meaningful comparisons is after the season when all the results are in. It seems a little early to compare anything right now, but if it's fun for some go for it.

I remember reading a post on the BC basketball forum after they hired him and we hired Saul that said OHIO got the best of the "Saul for JC trade." Would anyone now doubt that this poster was sage if not prophetic?

With a much more warm, fuzzy coach.

Maybe JC will be competing for the same jobs this offseason that at least one of our other ex-coaches will be vying for. It amazes me how so many people take this stuff personally.
