For those who look for the next wave of stars this series is pretty good. http://usatodayhss.com/2016/geico-espn-high-school-basket... /

Event Thursday night in New Castle pits ACTUAL High School against schools that are ....notsomuch. Should be some good hoops. New Albany has a kid that I saw last year at State Finals....Crean, Holtmann, Izzo and a number of others were in attendance as well. Should be a good show. First game tips at 7. http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2016/11/... /

Not sure what the crowds will look like on a Thursday with New Albany being 3 hours from home in World's largest HS Gym. Most casual INdiana fans have been talking about not giving a hoot as they do not think Oak Hill, La Lumiere are "High Schools" in the sense that they know actual High Schools.

Not sure if I am making the 17 mile trek or watching from home. Seeing Romeo for the 4th time is probably worth the drive.

Finally getting to go to some high school games this year with my youngest. For the last 5 years he's had practice from 7-9 on Tuesdays and Fridays for one team and from 6-7:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays for his other team. This year his practices have been moved to Tuesdays and Thursday and his Monday, Wednesday practices are earlier which leaves us available for the games. Our high school (Walter Johnson) is terrible but there are tons of good teams within 20 minutes of us in any direction. In the last ten days we've been to 4 different gyms and have seen some good basketball (and bad). Sadly, there was a bigger and louder crowd at his middle school game yesterday afternoon than there was at our high school game last night.

Hopefully you can make it over to Rt 1 in Hyattsville to check out my HS. Always good ball played in that gym.

That's one place I've never been but definitely need to go. I've been in every other gym in PG County (I went to Friendly). I have a friend whose son plays for St. John's and we almost went to their game the other night (big win for your DeMatha boys). How hard is it to get in?
