Obviously concerned about the play in the post today. Tony is gone early, post becomes basically obsolete in the 2nd half. Carter's minutes were huge, but he is stretched matching up with a 4/5 down low. If Tony is hurt long term, Doug will need to breathe. Dozier is not the answer.

I am hopeful that my question is not crucified, but can someone update me on Wadly? What is the long term plan? I understand the redshirt this year, but does he play for us next year or does he transfer? If he is planning to stay, is he well enough to burn the redshirt now for half a season worth of minutes?

My wadly update:

He was one of two players i say during national anthem with hand on heart. Im not an overly nationalistic guy, but it made me smile.

Im rooting for him to stay in athens...

+1. Drives me crazy all of the swaying, disinterest, etc. displayed during the anthem. Also fans or players that do not remain at attention for the color guard. Respect isn't asking for a lot.

I believe we'll see Wadly in a Bobcats uniform again next season. Whether or not that materializes, I still contend we need an additional big next season, be it a JC transfer or a freshman, who has an offensive game that must be respected. I took some flack on the message board for stating it would have been great to have Wadly and Khari's length and athleticism this season, even for a couple minutes per game. Just as they say you never can have enough pitchers in baseball, you never can have enough bigs in basketball.

let's do the math, there are 13 scholarships to hand out next season-

1. Simmons('18)
2. Laster('18)
3. Harley('18)

4. Dartis('19)
5. Block('19)
6. Taylor('19)

7. Carter('20)
8. Culver('20)
9. Gollon('20)
10. Dozier('20)

11. Butler('21)
12. Gareri('21)
13. Vander Plas('21)

the only way Wadly wears a Bobcat uniform next year is if he transfers to Texas State.

That's an accurate assessment of how the roster shapes up for next season on paper right now, PerimeterPost. But it remains to be seen if that still will be accurate in April and beyond.

Wadly supposedly was going to leave before this season but a scholarship was available for him and he stuck around. I'm not sure that's going to happen again. It's too bad that neither he nor Harley have been able to stay healthy enough to contribute.

This year Wad could play right? But hes redshirting so he can grad transfer next year. Any chance khari either goes that route or gets what Wingfield did where he keeps his scholly..quits hoops and it doesnt count against us? That would give us one more.

I'm fairly certain I've seen Wadly on crutches this year at the end of the bench. So from that point of view he probably couldn't play.

But from an eligibility perspective, he's played in games 3 years for us so the next year he plays I believe will have to be his last.

Edit: I sort of wonder the same thing about Harley.. If he'll ever be healthy to play for us or if he gets medically DQ'd or whatever it's called. It's a shame, he showed flashes of being very good in the short time on the floor he was given.

The plan is for Wadly to transfer. Plans can change, though. He's had surgery recently.

I agree about Khari. He was brought in late and has shown promise and has given a lot to the Cats by sticking with them.

I may be way off base but I don't see either Wadly or Khari suiting up for the Bobcats again. Neither were Saul recruits and we've got guys coming in next year that Saul is going to want to get on the court. Hopefully they are both able to find a situation where they can finish their careers on a high note, I just don't think it will be here.
