Those of you ripping my comment must have never played basketball and if you did youve never played against a zone. And if you did you must have gone 100 percent from the line.

If you are not a defense attorney, you missed your calling, especially if you win this debate, lol

Guess it's not sarcasm. The OHIO basketball program is way past the moral victory phase. Leave that to Miami and their fans after "almost" beating Akron today. Good luck on winning your debate. Some of us here would like to see 12-4 MAC records and consistent trips to the NCAA Tournament.

Allen blames the coaches for our cold shooting. Typical coming from the guy who said Jason Carter isn't a Div I player.

I was never debating kind sir. Offering my opinion. I am stating facts. You are going Donald Trump on me and going general. Enjoy your lounge chair where you win everything.

I blame coaching for scoring 1 point in the last 4:46 after an earlier outing where we scored 1 point in the last 6:40. Let's end games better, I am not saying fire the coach, but let's see some fixes. Carter proved me wrong. Thank God. Jeff i ate crow already for that one. Let's be real though, this needs to stop because next year there is not TC and KK.

I enjoy watching my school win basketball games and hate lackluster losses against teams we should beat at HOME...with or without Campbell. A 4 point loss to EMU at home is not a "moral" victory. And if that's how you feel, then you must really enjoy trips to the CBI Tournament. That's just me offering my opinion.

I was at the game today. Eastern is BIG. They play a good zone.

I really dont understand what happened with the double techical takedown on Carter and it happened right in front of us. After that #2 for the opposition was a beast offensively.

It wasnt the outcome i hoped for but i thinkbthe fellas played hard. Shots didnt fall, it happens.

Allen...you are right about next year. Been preaching about where we get points in the paint next year. Outscored today 32-18 I believe without Campbell. I think we all saw that DT will have to take ENORMOUS steps in the off-season to play more than 12 minutes per game next year. Even Saul in the post-game said the guy has to finish.

Wrong. A good team can break a zone. And a good team doesn't shoot 55% at the line. Or 30% from the field. Today we weren't very good.

Didn't watch the game, but holy cow what kind of an abortion WAS THAT on offense?

And not to be Debbie Downer, but we're staring a possible injury to Tony with games AT 4-0 Akron and AT 3-1 NIU in the face. This could be a 3 game losing streak in a heartbeat.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised or concerned. OOC showed this isn't anything beyond an average MAC team - so 500 in the conference puts us right about where we should be *shrugs*.

I'll add - I'm sold on Saul the person. I'm yet to be sold on Saul the bball coach. I hope we get there (and soon) but I just don't see it YET. My gut says he's the fun/nice/personable version of TOS. We shall see.

Have to shoot better to beat the zone. Plain and simple. You shoot poorly vs. the zone and you will lose every time.

Picked a bad game to have an "off" shooting night.

What planet are you guys living on? We don't have Tony and we lose to a pretty good team that is 11-6. The MAC is just beginning and we have a ton of games to play. Let's hope Tony is okay.

To beat EMU w/o TC we needed to hit from three. The radio guys on the pre-game show (not sure of their names) said the EMU 2-3 zone should be a blessing for Dartis and Kamisky. Unfortunately, KK hit 2 of 7 from 3 and Dartis 3 of 8. And if I'm not mistaken, Dartis hit his first three before coming going cold the rest of the game. The rest of the team? Nada from 3 on 5 attempts.

Still, we could have beaten EMU if we did a decent job from the line. Not great, just decent. Unfortunately, we go 15 of 29.

Ohio possibly could have won if Dartis or KK or Simmons had their typical game. Not all three, perhaps not even two of these guys. But just one of them.

Very impressed with Carter. I think he grew up today against one of the more imposing frontlines in the MAC. These weren't Licking County League 6-3 post players he was battling against today and he held his own.

Yeah, but every year they play multiple teams that normal people, even basketball fans, have never heard of. That W number is way inflated.

That said, we struggled like heck with their zone. Props to them.

Best wishes for Tony for a quick recovery.

4 of EMU's wins are vs NAIA teams.

0-2 at home against Eastern in our highest profile sports. Not a good thing.

EMU is better than they have been. Still, I agree, losing to the worst "brand" in our conference is not good.

For those of us that have been around for a while - remember when Eastern used to be THE powerhouse of the mid-late 90's? They were the Akron of their time.
