Eastern starts a frontline (all sophomores) of 6-9, 6-10, 6-11 with a 6-7 starter at shooting guard.

Saul goes strictly man-to-man. It'll be interesting to see how we match up on defense.

HAVE to have a great OZONE for this one. If I remember from last year, we got under Thimpson's skin last year and he blew up. First game back with all the students and 3-0 in the MAC.. What more could you ask for? Let's pack the Roundhouse on Richland Saturday!!!

Yes - Thompson was out of sorts early and never recovered.

Should be a great day to get inside for a basketball game. I know Eastern isn't a big rival, but there's gotta be a good crowd for this one now that the students are back. Double header with the ladies too.

Hopefully the weather doesn't keep fans away. Right now they are calling for a good chance of freezing rain/sleet/wintery mix type junk.

You forgot to run your Central/Southern Ohio conversion on the forecast. When forecast calls for some freezing rain or wintry mix only, count on basically just rain or at least no accumulation of ice. When forecast calls for X inches of snow that may mix with freezing rain or wintry mix, take X/4 to get actual accumulation. When forecast calls for just X inches of snow with no mention of wintry mix, take X/1.5.

Agreed - translation: Just get in the car and go! As warm as it's been recently, the roads should be fine.

Sometimes it's nice to go to a game just to escape for a weekend the weather the rest of the state gets.

True statement. Leave Columbus in the morning when it's 25 outside. By the time you get to Athens it's 40-45 and it feels "warm".

As a student, I always joked with my folks that Athens was the "Tropics of Southern Ohio" because it was always 10 degrees warmer and spring came weeks sooner than where I am from. (near Lima)

I looked through the EMU board, and on Twitter, and have found nothing new since the indefinite suspension was announced.

My daughter and I are coming down for the "Triple Header" as she calls it. Womens and Mens games plus a night time hockey game versus Delaware are on tap. Oh yeah, we have about a three hour drive from northwest Ohio in the morning. By 10pm Saturday night, I'll be ready for a nap. Normally we would drive back the same night, but I got a hotel room.

This will be the first time I will seen three games in one day in Athens. Usually it's only one or two. If it weren't for the long day (16 hours), the long trip home and the possibility of bad weather, I would probably make the trek Saturday night and arrive home early Sunday morning. If it weren't for my daughter I would probably try it but I will not put her life on the line to save a hotel bill.

He was suspended indefinitely prior to the BG game. What that means no one seems to know. Would not mind not seeing him play on Saturday. As frustrating and inconsistent as he is he can almost win a game by himself if he's 100% there.

Suspended indefinitely? That means one game if you're one of the better players at Duke.

Just kiddin' around. It absolutely makes sense to get a hotel and enjoy a night in Athens.

For tomorrow's game, I have a couple spare tickets. If you're interested, PM me. I should be in Athens by 11:30am tomorrow.

EMU is clearly one of the top four teams in the MAC and could contend for the tournament title.

They live by creating steals and turning them into buckets. So Ohio has to work hard to avoid the live ball turnovers.

As usual, the Eagles have been something of an enigma, with several strong wins but a couple of very bad losses.

Will be interesting to see if Rayven Lee plays tomorrow.

My concern will be how Block matches up on defense as EMU starts 6-9, 6-10, 6-11 up front. He's going to have to body up against one of those players. I recall the Tenn. St. game earlier this year with KK not playing, leaving Block to have to man up against Tenn. St. post player and getting into early foul trouble. Block ended up with little playing time and no FG. Block has proven himself in help defense and team defense situations. Will be interesting to see how he fares in this one-on-one matchup.

Hoping against ice storm that will keep me away from Athens County. Already missed one game this season (Cleveland St.) due to driving conditions.
