OHIO (10-2, 1-0) opens the MAC season beating the Falcons (4-9, 0-1) 69-58. This was a even game except for the 1st quarter when the Cats came out strong, 28-18. Cats were led by Kiki Lampkins (21 points, 5 steals) and Jaz Witherspoon (11 points, 12 boards). Nice to see Kelli Karlis back from injury (20 minutes) as they’ll need her minutes, height, D, and outside shot. Rebounding is a concern though. We lost the offensive board game 15-9 although it looked worse than that. Need a better court sense when shots go up, finding lanes to get to the hoop, blocking out, anticipating where the ball may be going, being more aggressive.

Big test Wednesday at the Convo (ESPN 3 and Time Warner cable, 7 p.m.) against Buffalo with only 1 loss and an RPI of 26. This is the team that owned us last year,with all 3 of our MAC losses coming to the Beefs including the MAC tourney.

Kiki Lampkins was just named MAC East Player of the Week for the third time this year. Her stats over the week from OhioBobcats.com, "23.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist per game and 4.5 steals per contest. She was 18-of-38 (.473) from the field and 8-of-10 (.800) from the free throw line in 34.5 minutes of work on the floor."

As stub mentioned above, big MAC East game on Wednesday night against Buffalo (11-1, 1-0). Coming off a win against Miami on NYE. Bulls and 'Cats have the best defenses in the MAC. It'll be a fun one inside the Convo.
