Would like to go back and see how Saul scheduled at NDSU...a place a lot harder to get to than Athens I imagine.
I was curious so I went back and looked at the home non-conf schedule for NDSU under Saul.
2014: Southern Miss, Delaware, Towson, 3 Non D1 schools
2013: Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota, Morehead State, 2 Non D1 Schools
2012: Green Bay, Nebraska-Omaha, Fresno State, 1 Non D1 School, Western Mich (Bracketbuster)
2011: North Dakota, UC-Davis, 2 Non D-1 Schools
2010: Idaho, Green Bay, Milwaukee, 2 Non D-1 Schools
2009: Oral Roberts, Northern Arizona, 2 Non D-1 Schools
2008: North Carolina Central, Colorado State, 2 Non D-1 Schools
Now lets look at his 3 years here:
2017: Southern, Sam Houston St, Tennessee Tech, Bryant, Mlwaukee, Cleveland St, 1 Non D-1 School
2016: Florida Gulf Coast, Tennessee St, Marshall, Jackson St, Arkansas PB, UC Riverside, 1 Non D-1 School
2015: App State, Arkansas PB, Belmont, St Bonaventure, UNC Wilmington, 0 Non D-1 Schools
We get a lot more home games than Saul ever got at NDSU. 2015 was by far our toughest and 2017 is by far the weakest. I hope we can get back to a 2015 type schedule, but even this year was better than anything he got at NDSU. And note that Tim Miles coached at NDSU before Saul and in his first year at Colorado St agreed to play at NDSU. (Maybe it was in his contract?)
