You know what else is awesome about Carter? He stayed in Johnstown and didn't cut some deal to play 1-2 years of HS ball for someone in Columbus.

It helped that Johnstown was pretty damn good though.

Rumors had Carter transferring to Newark for senior season. I've heard stories from both sides of the equations: Carter was interested but not Newark; and Newark inquired but Carter wasn't interested.

Imagine Carter joining Newark, currently ranked second in the state (Newark girls are #1 in the state) at 14-0 with mostly the same lineup from last season.

I just can't imagine a scenario where Jason Carter inquired about transferring to a high school and that high school saying "No thanks."

Another nice piece from Newark Advocate.

6-7 Newark sophomore Keyshawn Heard is the next Licking County baller I'd like to see play for Ohio.
