1. Ohio still has multiple dangerous perimeter scorers.
2. The injury is early enough in MAC play that Ohio offense can find chemistry without Campbell.

I expect it'll take some time to adjust, but the last two loses without Campbell are not what we should expect the remainder of the season. While Akron is the favorite, a bye to Cleveland is still in play, and then anything can happen.

Agreed. I think 10 and 6 is a real possibility.

Bookies don't think we're done as we open at Northern Illinois as only a 1.5pt underdog. I really thought the spot would be in the 6-7pt range.

Technically, 10-6 isn't possible, only because we play 18 MAC games. But 11-7, or 12-6, I would see as possible.

Hard news to be sure, but the blessing is that it happened early enough in the season that Saul and coaches can work to adjust. AC this year was a different player than AC last year, playing more on the outside and hoisting 3s. We have athletic bodies we can throw out there to replicate that, with the benefit of an upgrade on the defensive end. Lastly, I'm hoping we can be yet another team to prove the "Ewing Theory" correct.

Yep- staying positive ! Sure not what was planned , We have the best point guard -period- - plenty of fire power , young big men- as always backing the Cats .

My bad i thought 10 games in the East and 6 in the west. Therefore I'll change it to 11 -7.

I don't have any doubt that we'll surprise some teams... on a given night. We'll have a few games where we shoot the lights out of the gym, and we'll win some slugfests, but I have to think there are going to be a lot of EMU games in there too. This is really bad right now. It's not like there's time to adjust as if it happened in October. Right now 10-8 or 9-9 would be a decent season. Could we string four wins together in the MAC tourney? No. It's not happening.

This +1 ^^^ Only thing I'll add is that if this team can do better than 9-9 without Campbell it means that Simmons is taking over games and picking up some of the scoring slack. If not, 9-9 will be quite difficult to achieve.

23 points today from Simmons....right on cue. That's how it's going to have to be the rest of the way. Great to see him step up on the offensive end.

What can you say about today? Jaaron closed it out. Jordy hit big shots when needed. The team defense was outstanding. And Jason Carter continues to solidify his position as a prime time player on this team.

My game ball goes to Mike Laster though. He doesn't get many looks but today he came in totally fearless and put up the shots when he was given opportunities. His shot looks sooooo much better than his first two years. Kudos to him and the staff for working on it.

Very pleased with today's game. Team D, intensity, and playing a team game got it done today. If I have to nitpick it would be KK's poor shooting effort but he did show up with 7 boards. Now, what I was most curious to see in today's stats: Campbell (season average) 16.4 points and 9 rebounds, while Carter and Taylor had an aggregate of 19 points and 16 boards today. If this is the post AC model, then I'm OK with it. Laster was huge today too, let's not forget that.

NIU is no great team! They are basically 1-2 without Tone. 9-9 still sounds right!

Really good game today! Two observations: NIU didn't score too many points but we made a lot of defensive errors (drive bys, not moving feet, etc.). Second we live or die by the three, today we hit a bunch of 'em so we

We are still one of the top four teams in the conference. We are going to have some clunkers and people here will claim we are terrible and the sky has fallen, but we still have a punchers chance.
