Incredible game on Saturday.

38 pts, 5-5 from 3, 13-16 on FTs, 10 rebs, 5 assists, and 40 mins played. Wow.

He's locked in and WOW is it fun to see. If Kaminski and Dartis are struggling, Jaaron has now proven he's got what it takes to will this team to victory.

I agree. A truly superb outing by JS. It was like a Bean Willis performance, EXCEPT he played team ball and helped other players play better with good ball movement and timely assists. Let's keep up the momentum, Bobcats!

Of all the players to compare Jaaron with after today's performance, you choose Bean??? I don't see it.

Evidence that it was Jaaron's day include having Simmons taking the technical free throws, typically Dartis' attempts last year and this year, toward the end of the game. Even appeared that Dartis suggested/directed Simmons to go to the line for the technical foul shots.

Reminded me of how two Columbus Crew players handled it a bit differently last season when Higuain and Kamara argued on the pitch as to which one was going to take a penalty kick. Kamara was traded by the Crew a few days later.

Boy, I'm not sure about your reading comprehension. I thought the way he put up some of those clutch threes right in the face of the defender were "Bean-like." Did you see the EXCEPT in my sentence? I then pointed out things that JS does that Bean never did. To "team play" and "timely assists" I could have added "playing defense."

I love Marcus Keene and the exposure he gives the MAC and Big Dog is solid but when it matters Jaaron is the best overall talent and MVP of his team. He will probably make 1st Team but should be considered for POY

This is what happens when someone decides to lead. No question even without Tony, we have lots of talent. Now Jaaron needs to continue and make sure everyone is on board, Jason has shown great possibilites, but some were still looking aimless out there, one shot and out--not getting into a flow etc. We certainly have the potential for a big run, but does everyone on the team realize it?

We would be justifiably furious if Keene played in Athens and didn't get POY. He's a no-brainer. JS was spectacular today, and he's a great player. Keene is spectacular almost every game.

Arguing with that is pretty futile if you respect reality.

I saw the last 7 minutes of WMU at CMU on TV Friday night. CMU came from 11 down to win and their gym (appears to seat about 4500) was rocking.

Keene is flat out exciting.

Keene is First Team and Simmons and Weathers are second team. Simmons has the greatest ceiling as a PG at this point.

No reading comprehension issues here OCF, but thanks for the quick trigger response like I'm your usual West Coast target. I simply disagreed with your comparison, even with the EXCEPT: "It was like a Bean Willis performance." You didn't say in your OP that it was him pulling up in the face of the defender that reminded you of Bean, you used "performance" and I was thinking of Jaaron's 10 rebounds as well as 5 assists and shooting 16 free throws. Bean could not get to the rim like Jaaron, and did not ever have a double-digit rebound game. I guess you meant "It was like a Bean Willis performance EXCEPT it wasn't like a Bean Willis performance."

No I'd never confuse you with "my favorite West Coast target." Sorry if it sounded that way. I just thought your initial rejoinder seemed a little snarky. Though I didn't detail all of the differences, I thought it was clear I was saying that his ability to take over a game and put the team on his shoulders was "Bean like." However, I wasn't comparing JS to Bean as a complete player at all. If you will recall, Bean had his moments when he be hitting all those threes and we'd win a game "on his back." Problem is, the next game he might be cold as hell but he'd still take the same shots. I remember having a saying in those days, that I'd say to those sitting around me at games, "Live by the Bean, die by the Bean." Obviously, I'd much rather have Mr. Simmons than Mr. Willis on our team. So, I apologize if I took your response wrong. Can we make up and be friends, again? We need a united front against the "West Coast Offensive." ;-)

Yes, my mere names draws the hate.

I was in the chatroom during every football game this year. But since I entered every game using a pseudonym, my posts drew no fire.

Objectivity's not real high on certain SFB posters' perspective.

Anyone want to rank where this game falls on the "All-Time Great Performances in Convo History" list? I haven't been around long enough to venture any kind of guesses, but in my short time since seeing games in the Convo (2003) I'd be hard pressed to find a better one.

Of course Jamerson's 60 is probably tops?

I see no reason why Keene and Simmons can't both be on first team this year. Last year there were three centers on the first team.

I predict 5 of the below 6 players will make all MAC 1st team. Simmons might have the most work to do, but if he continues at his post-Campbell pace he will sneak in there easily.

G: Marcus Keene - CMU
G: Jaaron Simmons - Ohio
G: Blake Hamilton - Buffalo
