WOW. I thought for sure Akron had control of this thing but the momentum shifted in that one big time. This one makes up for a lot of complaints and gripes from my perspective. Breaks Akron's losing streak and closer to thee psychological level of 20 wins. Eight more MAC games so 6-2 to end the season will do it or 4-4 and a couple of post season wins.

I am sure a lot of casual observers of the MAC think our arena, fans and facilities are similar to something they have seen via a Miami or Buffalo game. An East Coast fan might think of our arena size as similar to Hofstra or St. Bonaventure. Then they get an actual look at our arena and think it looks similar to any Big Ten or ACC facility, which is especially relevant in this new era of smaller arenas. It certainly can't hurt with our prestige factor and recruiting efforts.

I hafta wonder if our arena size has anything to do with recruiting. Seems that level of TV exposure is more important.

It certainly couldn't hurt with recruiting. The Convo is a lot more inviting than Millett Hall which looks like something out of a East German master planners meeting circa 1968!

I've probably mentioned this on here a dozen times, but will do so again because I think it is so interesting, and pertinent to this conversation.

I once heard a Charlie Coles interview regarding recruiting to Miami, and the jist of it was that he tried to get any BB player to commit without seeing Millett, or a game there, basically (and these are my words) because the building and fan base stink.

Gillen. He took a loss here when he brought his Virginia team in.

I am sure size matters to some degree...

Size of crowd more so than size of arena - and of course larger arena should mean larger crowd/bigger stage, etc.
