Just a heads up, my sister-in-law who teaches in Reynoldsburg informed me that her school got a bunch of Central Ohio Day vouchers for this Saturday's basketball double header. You get 2 free tickets with the voucher and can buy additional tickets for $10. Plus free bobcat socks to the first 300 kids to redeem the voucher. Made it much easier to get my wife on board for a family trip to Athens.

This is a great idea on how to help build the local fan base. Start em young!

For those curious, this promotion is targeted to all schools within Columbus and suburbs. Students, teachers and staff each received a voucher (as described above) to encourage them to come enjoy the game. A similar promotion was run for the Texas State football game with tremendous success.

FYI, the only way to receive the ticket offer (or free socks) is with one of the vouchers provided through the schools.

Great idea. I'm curious if something similar would work in Cleveland or Cincinnati? Especially since it's a Saturday game and those cities also have big alumni bases.

I wonder if this was just in Franklin County and/or just in elementary/middle schools. I haven't heard anything about it out our way.
