MAC Release

CLEVELAND -- The Ohio men's basketball team's contest at Mid-American Conference West Division foe Ball State has been picked up by CBS Sports Network and will now be played on Friday, Feb. 10, and will tip at 6:30 p.m. ET from Worthen Arena in Muncie, Ind., as announced the league office on Thursday (Jan. 26).

The game, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11, and a 1 p.m. ET tip-off, has been moved due to being selected as a MAC wildcard game.

The MAC announced on Monday (Jan. 23) that Ohio's Feb. 4 contest against MAC East Division rival Akron has also been picked up by CBS Sports Network and will now tip at noon ET from the Convocation Center in Athens.

Coming off of a tough 79-76 loss to West Division foe Toledo on Tuesday (Jan. 24), Ohio (12-6, 4-3 MAC) is back on the road again to visit MAC East Division rival Bowling Green (8-12, 2-5 MAC) on Saturday (Jan. 28). The contest was picked up by Spectrum Sports and Buckeye Cable Sports Network and tip at 4 p.m. ET. The game will also be broadcast on ESPN3 and streamed live nationally on WatchESPN and the ESPN app.

Great. As the program grows we will be having a lot of basketball appearances with the program in the MAC. In one of the games where Ohio wasn't playing the showed a graphic of Antonio Campbell and under it said out for the season. They are taking MAC basketball seriously.

This is good exposure. But if it was a home game moved from Saturday to Friday I would be pissed!

A good excuse to go to Happy Hour somewhere and stay until the end of the game.

Pitchforks would be coming out if this was a home game. Ball State draws about 6 fans/game, so doubt it has much impact there.

It's one thing to move a game from 3:30 to noon and a completely differently thing to move a game from Saturday to Friday. Wow. I'd hate it too if this happened to an OHIO home game. People plan out their schedules before the season starts as to what games to attend.

I was planning to go, now I won't even see the first half. Said in another thread but thing that needs to change is the short notice. 10-12 days isn't a good thing for any school in this situation.

A 630pm friday tipoff would have conflicted with my social schedule as an undergrad...

If you can't watch a basketball game which will be done by 9 at the latest and still have a social schedule that's a you problem.

Unless you are in the group that goes home every weekend. Worst part of being in Dekalb or Muncie is that both are weekday campuses. Lots are empty come 3 pm on Friday and full again on Sunday night.
