Went to the Xavier/GT Game last Sunday. Not only is their student section better, the band was decent too. I didn't say that 3-5 years ago. Bummer.

(And Yes, I know Xavier is a BB School and this, that and the other)

Marketing and student involvement need to get better ASAP.
Are you now seriously questioning the Marching 110? I'd put them up against some Xavier pep band any day of the week.

Xavier is in the Top 25. They have 14 NCAA Tournament Appearances since 2000 (we have 3). If we had that sort of success, I'm sure you'd see a different atmosphere.

There is legitimate, real excitement around the Xavier program. We've maybe had that 1-2 times over the last 10 seasons. We are a middle of the road team in a middle of the road conference (unfortunate, but true). Frankly, we're lucky to get the crowds that we get.

Our student/fan support outperforms our relative team success by quite a bit.

Not sure how the desciption of "decent" says I am questioning the 110. Please.

My son is currently a junior at X, lives on campus. Has no interest staying at a game after presenting the flag (he's rotc).

My younger son is a junior at local HS and will be skipping his 18th bday dinner to attend his rivalry hoops game tomorrow.

Amazing how different strokes for different folks works, both were raised in identical setting. Ha.

Hope the OZone gets hooks on hoops fans new to campus early on!

Should have paid to keep Groce. His departure cost us momentum. Need more wins to rebuild it. Better non-conference scheduling at home can help. That one game might draw only 8,000 but have a profound effect on perception for recruiting and fans.

Schaus on line 2 - Have your checkbook out or credit card number ready....and what building (or maybe even campus green) you desire to have renamed in your honor....

Alan on line 3 - Looking for tax filing claims/deductions advice....

For sure! We easily could have matched the $1.7 million base he's averaging now, and tripled the pay of his assistants while were at it. Let's start a thread about re-hiring him! Oh, damn, someone beat me to it!

You got that right. Need to minimize taxable income this year big time. Are there any associated with building a wine cellar?

If there were a "like" button, I'd use it here.

Alan, stock the wine cellar, receipt the inventory. Entertain your key customers. Document the business purposes of the discussions. You won't need the documentation when you file on the 15th, but you will need all records for the audit.
