Is this a robot?

The first two opinions - pretty well unanimous agreed to on BA.

The third - per use press when up big - I have thought about that. In fact I don't think we have pressed in any situation all year...but that might be due to the apparent "everybody turn and run or quickly start back peddling" rule as soon as the ball leaves any Bobcats hand with a shot.....

Well, I did have nightmare where JG gets fired from Illinois and takes the job at Miami and becomes the second coming of Grunkemeyer. Unfortunately, the timing this year might be perfect for this to become reality. I certainly hope not.

Which is more likely? Groce comes back to MAC or Nee comes back to MAC?

Correct...Jon Groce will never be a MAC coach again because I've never heard of him. However, John Groce...I know that guy...anything is possible.

NEVER gonna happen
That word "never" really bothers me! ;-) I remember when Joe Namath was playing for the Jets in Super Bowl III and the word on that street was that an AFL team would "never" win the Super Bowl. Then they said that Cubs would *never* win another World Series. Before LJ came back to Cleveland there were those who said the Cavs would never win a championship.

Two other famous nevers, but not from the world of sports:

1. The telephone will never be popular: "This 'telephone' has too many shortcomings to be seriously considered as a means of communication. The device is inherently of no value to us." - Western Union internal memo, 1876

2. The electric light bulb will never catch on: “When the Paris Exhibition [of 1878] closes, electric light will close with it and no more will be heard of it.” - Oxford professor Erasmus Wilson

Not never but doubt if Groce would LOWER himself to the little school in SW Ohio
Reasons
1. mu has put NO $$ or help to BB, this will not change

2. The hockey team flys to Colorado, Minn and other far away teams on their hockey schedule

3. The BB team takes a bus and eats cold pizza after the games

4. The crowds for BB games never reaches 1000

5. The student turnout might not exceed 75 student- the library is also empty

6. The mu AD will use a search company- he will NOT use Redskins to help
Wayne Embry. Randy Ayer. Tate's Locke. Darrell Hedrick. Wally Z ( cannot spell his long last name ) and many many more

7 The football team won 6 in a row to finish the season-- guess where the $$ will go
Hockey. Football. They also bus everywhere

8. The old arena is like a funeral home

All good reasons why not. I'll give one reason why: Somewhere out there, Miami has a couple donors who say "Enough is enough, let's get this program back to where it once was." I'm just playing devil's advocate, I don't see it happening. And like others, gawd, I don't want John there. I want to actually root for him to do well.

Didn't Miami make some sig. improvements to Millett recently? new lighting, seats, scoreboard, removal of indoor track (which I guess means little unless they could move seats closer). Any reports on whether this helped? silk hat on a pig?

You know they are getting ready to do a new stadium or gut the current one right? i went thru this on the football thread. New coach will be brought in, and they will announce the renovations a short time after. Trust me, I know guys on their development staff who have been on this campaign for the last couple years.

I'm reminded of this clip from Charlie Coles-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIH1lhPNyaI

"I've always said if this league is going to get real good, Miami and Ohio have to be real good too."

Groce to Fiami would be amazing.
