This team sits 7-5. We are pretty much a .500 team after Campbell went down. We really give up a boatload of points in second half of games as our guards and bigs get tired and foul trouble our thin frontline.

And sitting at #2 tourney seed, and one or two wins better than the next 8 (EIGHT) teams who did not lose a MAC POY LY.

Who would have predicted back in Dec. that Ohio would win a MAC road game with 0 minutes from TC? 0 FG and 1 pt. from KK? more turnovers (6) than FG (4) from Simmons?

Not a pretty win, but Ohio benefited from Laster and Carter and Block and Dartis stepping up to fill the void.

My works buds took Ball giving 1.5. I couldn’t blame them as they have heard me whine about giving up huge leads and losing Big Tone. I don’t recall seeing a team like this at OHIO.

Random Thoughts:
A guy like KK who can score 25 or 0.
Jason Carter with 2 pts against CMU.
5 guys in double figures last night. Crazy.

I do see some expected struggles when Culver, Laster and Taylor are on the floor at the same time. It’s necessary to add depth but needs to get better.

IMO KK and Jason are the wild cards. When they are on to go with our top shelf guards, we are tough to beat.

Lots of focus on Block to play well almost every game to add consistency. He had a few games in the last 5 that weren’t up to his standards I’m sure.

I would like to Jason argue less with the officials. He has 3+ years left and doesn’t want that reputation as it will lead to bad results.

Let’s try and get one back from the thugs of EMU Tuesday!

I am somewhat trouble by the admission in post game interviews with coach and a player that we lacked intensity to open the second half.

For me it falls into the category of "we just weren't ready to play today" following a loss.

It certainly beats, "We didn't have a good 'mind set" going into the second half." Remember that terminology from a past coach?

student athletes struggling to stay 100% focused during long road trips in the heart of the dreary days of winter is nothing new.
