Congratulations! This is a hypothetical world and you have been named as the AD at Ohio. Time is irrelevant, so you can hire a basketball coach who is bringing in his two top recruits. Who ya got?

What about Danny Nee with John Devereaux and Victor Alexander (or Robert Tatum or Paul Baron or...)?

I think it'd be hard to pass on Gary Trent no matter who he was paired with, and in this case, the other player and coach he is with may be as good as any of the other coach/second player combos.

How about Jim Snyder and guys like Don Hilt, Mike Haley, Paul Storey, Walter Lucket, etc., etc.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Luckett

It was said that his recruiting skills were so good that the could sell refrigerators to Eskimos.

P.S. I voted for Saul in the poll

I was thinking of Snyder with Luckett and Tom Corde (maybe the best two during my time at Ohio), but picking two of Snyder's would be very difficult. Over 26 years he had dozens.

Maybe but I think it's even tougher to pass up 3 NCAA Tournament victories.

How about a write in vote for Coach Danny Nee with Dave Jamerson and Snoopy Graham? I prefer to remember Asst. Coach Hahn on the bench listening to Coach Nee or checking out how many time outs we had at a stoppage in play. Those are my fondest memories of Coach Hahn on the bench:)

Have to go with Trent. No player more dominant than him - and maybe never will be. Throw in Hunter and that's a heck of a post presence.
